So there is no decoy album, apparently.
I have made a fool of myself posting about how horrible this record is and how it must be fake. 10 or 12 more listens later…I am really starting to like it. Maybe you should give this a chance. Clinging to hopes of a better “real” album may be keeping you from fully appreciating what we have here.
I think everyone is judging this a little premature. It can take years for an album to finally reach its full appreciation amongst its listeners. I’d be angry at this band if they released aenina2: the new west coast.

Thats what Maynard and i both say to you “fans” who took one listen and quickly judged it. I can’t honestly believe anyone who considers themselves a TRUE tool fan can seriously criticize a TOOL album after even 2-3 listens. Be open minded and let it sink in, then pass judgement. Or actually dont, that is unless youre a better musician than them.
lets face it, tool are no ‘my chemical romance!’.ok, i thought that might get yr attention. i jest ofcourse. it is premature to judge so far, i agree. i like it alot personally appart from some of the lazy sound scape fillers. i dont think it takes years (as someone said above) for an album to sink in…one is either a retard or suffers from amnesia for that to be true. after all, if a book bores u after the first 50 pages u close it (a la the bible and qouran). i think the album is good so far… Read more »
P.S. my sources tell me there is a decoy tool live album coming out around christmas. apparentley tool have gotten hold of a delorean car with a functional flux capacitor and have sent laars ulrich, john bon jovi and the washington snipers into 1.21 gigawatts at 88 mph, to do a live gig on jupiter and then come back as if nothing happend. im told the gig is one of the best becoz the atmousphere is really cool on jupiter. ok, im done mocking

Hell no, I couldn’t see them every visiting here, or Rocky for that matter. It’ll be a trip down to Brisbane for me when they come down under. If the tour manager is listening – don’t make it during the week!
hehe Tool do go the extra mile when it comes to touring but maybe not Yeppoon. I think if you do go you’d be right in the midst of it. I guess we’ll know in the next few weeks but you can’t help speculating.

this albums up there in originality with the likes of kid a and the wall. it sounds as though tool has finally reached the sound the’ve always been striving for. almost no radio friendly tracks and in my opinion lyricaly better and more meaningful than anything reznor could pen. in fact, i bet a lot of you who are bashing it now, are gonna be the ones listening to it on repeat months after it gets released in stores.
