I’m going to start a new page here for so 10,000 Days Mini-Reviews. You should see it on the right menu. Anyone who has anything to say about the CD (good or bad), send me an email and I’ll add the review.

I reserve the right to edit any of the reviews though, and if you send me anything that I consider unreadable (ie. bad spelling grammer, etc) I won’t post it. hellboy1975@gmail.com

  1. i have no idea what bachteria is talking about. This is hands down TOOL’s best piece of work to date. It’s different, but yet the same. The music is so tightly wound together that not everyone can absorb what is going on. This cd is the rich man’s Lateralus. Impossible not to appreciate, but unless your a long-time TOol fan…you wont like it.

    IF your a tool hater, this is the perfect album to shred, because you cant appreciate it.

    10k days was worth the wait, and yes i will own at least 2 copies. After the first one burns out from playing it too much, the 2nd will get a run. Jambi, WIngs for Marie pt.2 and Rosetta Stoned are a++ songs. While “the pot” gets a close 2nd (A+) Notable mention to Right in Two, which is a great closing song. its hard as usual to pick one favorite, but Rossetta stoned might be it. Smiliarites are present with past work, but in no way, shape or form are these tracks left over scraps…not even close. Every band member shines on this cd at one point or another, and the rest of the music world should take notice… if there was any doubt before about who the best band is, there isnt anymore.

  4. The album is pure genius! I don’t feel i should have to wait till the 2nd. I respect those that do, but in my opinion TOOL has made me wait long enough and i have been patient for many years now. I love TOOL..and this album is amazing. Wings for Marie is the most georgeous song i have heard. Very sad.

  5. i’ve listened to this album over a dozen times since it leaked. though it may not have the overall appeal of AEnema, it is a much better effort than lateralus and it definately showcases the collective of their talent. you can tell they haven’t been sitting around with their finger up their ass for 5 years. someone was complaining that there is only 7 real tracks on the disc. it’s actually 8 full songs most of them over 7 minutes each. i’d say that is more music than 12 3 min songs slapped together. 10,000 days is a well thought out album. it tells a story both musically and lyrically. maynard’s always been a pretty spiritual dude and lateralus could have been read like the bible, but the lyrics on this album have a more enlightened feel. great job. worth the wait. damn good job guys!

  7. Hmm i’m not too sure. So far I’m on ‘The Pot’ (no pun intended) and the album is….pretty…rubbishy. This can’t be what i’ve been waiting for, for 5 years or so…damnit

GREAT!!!! maybe not when you listen to for the first time but 5-7 more listens later… but on the other hand it is true that somewhere in the middle it seems to be a bit boring… I think that it is due to the track no. 8 and 9… try to skip them first and then play them at the end… it should help:) be grateful to the BAND… this album is realy amazing! and don’t forget to buy a legal copy on May the 2nd!

  12. I personally think that the fake version is a masterpiece and much better than the real thing, TOOL should be worshipped like gods and knighted for the joke.

  14. You guys, consider this:

    If LOOKING AT ART without paying is NOT STEALING, then why is LISTENING TO ***MUSIC*** without paying stealing???

    On the other hand, waiting for the full package to come, looking at the album art, listening to the tracks in the correct order with the best sound quality…those are good reasons to not download it.

    I’ve heard bits of it, and it sounds good.

  15. it’s still legal to dl music in canada far as i know, due to the royalties we pay on storage media – so don’t feel guilty, and still buy the album when it comes out – I will, if I can find it on vinyl (lets hope they can do a slightly better job on that than the lateralus mix)

    I’ll probably pay 70$ to go and see them also, what more could they want.. hell, I’d love to see disc two of this released on May2 myself.

    As far as this effort goes, I find it much more listenable over and over again as compared to lateralus – the cross rhythms are more developed, the songs are more substantial, the only dissapointing moment is one over minimalist solo that sounds a bit too mixed – possibly the released version will more polished? I can’t name a favourite, though I’ll agree vicarious seems like the StinkFist of 10000 days
