Wow! Slick! So I guess this really does put to rest doubts people had about the picture of the cover with the red writing on it?
Though I’d like to see more new artwork, but whatever…the CD design is great.
the writing is only a sticker you’re able to remove 😉 look very close, you can see it in the upper left corner

I’m totally against the decoy / fake theory, but what the hell is that? You can see the lip where it is hanging out. It clearly ISNT sitting under the packaging.
NM, that isnt a lip, thats the line from the cutting board ruler that the packaging is on.

what I dont get it is.. the CD with all the eyes in it slides into the case, but it was reported, wasnt it, that the CD was beneath the book clipped into a standard plastic CD holder that was glued to the paper case… right?
So then what is the second disc? and where is the plastic standard part the CD usually goes in?

If you look at the original one with the text still on the cover, you will see that it is a sticker.
I just saw the 10,000 Days promo commercial on tv and it seems to me that the case with the slip is fake, but im not sure. has anyone seen

It came on USA networks. It looks like a regular cd case.

In other words, only the “import” would have the visual aid, etc? I doubt they would do that, but then I do wonder, since I have seen some really low prices for the US version that don’t really justify all the extra involved on this packaging…it would be really crappy to order the US version for 9 bucks or so, and then not get any of the above pictured stuff.
people, it’s cheap because it’s the first week. All first week albums at Best Buy, Circuit City, and Meijers are $9.99. There is no second CD and there is no different packaging.
The CD Jewel Case image shown in the TV ad wasn’t even a photograph of the album but a CGI. In my experience CDs are almost always shown as jewel cases in TV ads (as well as mailorder catalogues) because that’s the standard format for CDs. Next time you see a Columbia House or BMG ad on TV keep your eye out: they show NIN’s Downward Spiral in a jewel case when in fact it comes in a very different format.
