In a move that’s sure to piss off Toolarmy members, it’s been announced that there will be no pre-sales for the upcoming North American tour dates. Personally, being and Australian member I’m used to not getting much from my TA membership apart from the site and occasional sales, but if I was an American, I’d be slightly pissed.
I’m sure there’s most likely some circumstances behind the shows that precludes Tool and their management from being able to arrange pre-sales, but it still makes you wonder how much respect does the band have for their fan club members…..

But HEY! The Ticketmaster page for the Toronto show lists a presale for “Circle Of Friends”. Anyone know what’s up with that?

If you look at the listing of venues, you’ll understand WHY they’re not doing fan pre-orders. All of these places are Theatres – with crown moulding and gilding and 2000 seat capacities. Tool is not doing Arena shows this time around, apparently. That is why the Tool Army can’t get pre-orders. I’m willing to bet that once the album is out that Tool will be going for bigger venues which will allow them more leeway with their fans to offer discounts and pre-orders. Phaedrus, I would imagine that those types of shows should be sold DIRECTLY to fan club and diehards rather than the Arena like venues.. but thats just me.
Lol, I just bought a Toolarmy membership today too, trying to get presale, but oh well.
the hammersmith apollo has the same capacity as the venues tool are playing in america, and we got presale.
I think it was due down to them being late additions. Either way there will be presales/giveaways when the start the ‘major’ tour.

Get over it, geez. How about the rest of the world that doesn’t get access to it. They deal fine. Sure, it’s great having it, I won’t deny that, but at the same time you can still do without. Many of us have gone both ways and enjoyed the show. Just shut up and be happy their running a mini-tour! 🙂

they can suck my nuts. it’s not hard to set up a presale and the venue size means nothing. most of the time fanclubs get a certain percentage of capacity so a 2000 person venue might only offer 200 tickets to the fanclub but thats still 100 people that wouldnt have to deal with ticketbastard each show. once again, they can suck my hairy nut sack.

I think that their are no presales for the mini tour, but I’m sure after their world tour, they will come back and do north america again with presales. that probably just don’t have the time to plan all of it out. the shows arent that far away…

These shows are going to sell out quick, with the lion’s share of tickets going to big block buyers, who will turn around and sell said tickets for 8 to 10 times their face value.

It isn’t that toolarmy members are entitled to presale tickets. It’s that it’s the right thing to do. They should have made it happen. It’s so ridiculous how much better a fanclub nin’s “the spiral” is than TA. I dont think many people joined TA for the nifty member kit, I think most people joined for presale tickets. fuckers.
serves the people right who just joined for the presale. i was a member in 03 and i have the right to be pissed but the people who joined yesterday or two days ago have no right to bitch.
i’m really not even that pissed about it. Tool care about there fans. They put out music and play shows.
To say that Tool doesn’t care about money would be wrong. We all have bills to pay, and Tool is a business entity with partners and “employees” (record label, marketing, touring/lighting/sound/tech crews, etc) that all want a cut. They just happen to be in the business of making awesome music (entertainment, a multi-billion dollar industry).

As previously posted, I just recently joined Toolarmy, mainly for the presale tickets for this tour. But don’t get me wrong, I didn’t slander Tool at all in my previous post. In fact, I’m not even pissed about it. I just hope I can get the tickets I need, because it’s my 21’st b-day vacation, and Tool just so happens to be playing in the same city within my 7 day trip. It doesnt matter now at all but the Circle Of Friends is a group to join the venue (Hummingbird Center) it cost $60 (CDN) to join and the ticket limit was still 2. They were center orchestra mainly I watched them disappear before 11:30 and they went onsale at 10
I do not know the exact number of those tickets unfortunatly rough estimate 60ish.

not to mention that we didn’t get discounts on t-shirts (can you say $43 for a girlie T) or anything AT the show – and on top of that, I haven’t even received ANYTHING promised me with my membership? can someone say “a little bit annoyed”?
but, of course, the concert(s) that I went to (3 so far this year) were amazing. Except Street Scene (San Diego), that was just “OK”. crowd was wierd.
