Blair on Toolband/Army tells us that there’s a Tool inspired Alex Grey painting on Ebay at the moment. According to Ebay Pentacost was painted by Alex following a Tool concert on May 19th, 2006. If you have a wallet that desparately needs a hole burnt in it (bidding is currently at US$2,125) then head over to Ebay to make your bid.

I’d say it is worth it. When i visited NY, i saw the COSM and its utterly spectacular. The ammount of effort and attention to detail makes it worth every cent.

Cam De Leon is the superior artist of the two. He has variety and doesn’t stick to the same mantric style. It gets quite old. Once you’ve seen an Alex Grey piece you’ve seen them all..

That’s not the only thing that gets old…
Besides, can you really quantify art in a way that so that one artist can be judged better than the other. You can have a personal preference for one, but to say one is superior is really just pointless.
Just for the record, I kind of agree, I think Alex Grey’s art is pretty repetitive, and I much prefer the style of Cam’s stuff, but I’m not about to make bold statements like “one is shit while the other rule”…

“one is shit while the other rule”
^
I never said that..
They should have only worked with Grey once.
Cam de Leon is not only a painter..he’s an awesome sculptor, drawer, etc. He’s a renaissance man..
