Brian emailed me this quote today, apparently taken from a new interview with Maynard in Revolver:
Adam is working on a new video at the moment. I can’t say for what song. When that winds down, we’re gonna try to get back in the writing space. When we’ve actually picked an engineer you’ll have an idea that there might be a record coming someday.
Any speculation on what video is forthcoming? I’ve heard that The Pot is the likely candidate, but it would be cool so see something for one of their longer songs – perhaps Lost Keys/Rosentta Stoned?
Sounds to me like a 2010 release, at best.
I’d prefer Rosetta Stoned as-well. Much better song.
Its probably the pot. They typically make videos out of their most radio-friendly tracks (schism, parabola, vicarious).
i wouldnt mind a wings/10000 days video. but i do agree that a lot more unique things could come out of a lost keys/rosetta stoned video, its likely that the video will not be played on tv anyway, so length wont be an issue, and will become a thoroughly enjoyable dvd for the fans

Yeah, I’d LOVE to see a Lost Keys/ Rosetta Stoned video. Rosetta Stoned is hands down my favorite song off the album. But I doubt this is gonna happen anytime soon. Does it HAVE to be a Tool video? did Adam say it would be? Remember, they like to fuck with their fans.
As I said Rosetta Stoned would make a great video. The main problem stopping this that I see is the length of the song. Regardless of if the video is some kind of animation or CGI (and it likely is, Adam has made reference in the past to the new video being animated rather than CGI’d) then the time and expense required to animate a ~15 minute long video could become prohibitive.
I suspect this is the real reason why the “singles” are selected, being that they are generally the shortest on the albums. We can dream though!

I think the best choose is “Right In Two”… “Lost Keys/R STONED” y too long for a video i think… Well anyways, the good news is that Adam’s working on the album again dont you think?
