In what will come as a surprise to very few, Tool have been officially confirmed as part of the Lollapalooza lineup. Other acts that I like on the bill include Janes Addiction, Beastie Boys, Lou Reed and Dan Deacon. The Festival spans several nights in August at Grant Park in Chicago. Sounds like a great gig!

I am in no way sure that we’ll be getting any more info today, but it still is early in the day for California, it’s not even 4AM yet. One of Blair’s posts did include “Tomorrow, I should have some news about another local band of interest.” which was posted on April 20th at 7PM, then he added the Lollapalooza news at 11PM. That might have been the news he was talking about, but there could still be more coming.

Is any one else put off by the fact we were expecing the big announcement a month ago. With Nothing, then people decide that it is the 21st and everyone holds their breath and still nothing. I am pretty fucking sick of this shit. Tool needs to get its shit together. Blair said nothing cryptic a month ago, he simply said tour dates are coming soon. Dont get me wrong I like blair and the band the shirt is meant to be a joke. Also I predicted that the dates would not be announced today despite all speculation. The reason for the frustration is there was a post saying that the dates would be released. In the past tool dates have been released all at once. For full legs of a tour. This is a mini tour. What I am asking is why is it so hard to release 15 dates so people can get the vacation plans put together.

andSometimesY – i called Lolla’s ticket agents and they told me that typically single day tickets don’t go on sale until a few weeks after the 3-day tix are released. they also told me that if the 3-day tix are sold out, the one day may NOT go on sale at all. this, apparently, hasn’t happened for like 8-9 years, though. as far as driving in chicago, i wouldn’t worry. i’ve lived here for 18 years and it’s really not all it’s cracked up to be in terms of traffic. don’t worry and drive with confidence. the only real problem is how fucking expensive parking is. expect… Read more »
