A few videos have come over my desk the last few days, and I’m finally getting around to posting them.
The first are a range of videos from the recent Danny Carey, Aloke Dutto, Terry Bozzio drum clinic in Kansas. There’s a stack of them out there, but here’s the best I found:
There’s also a video Maynard talking about his winery and the viability of the industry in Northern Arizona.
So sad…Maynard basically implies what many of us have long feared…this next album will be TOOL’s last.

He said he enjoys making music but the touring aspect is what his body isn’t taking as well as it used to. He didn’t say anything about not recording albums or studio music anymore. I seem to remember him saying he and the rest of the band want to play together, in whatever form, until they die.
Its obvious by now that even though the music facet of Maynard is the one we’re all familiar with and love, he’s found something else in winemaking that he loves and wants to be his career for the long term. With his savings the guy could just retire among the beautiful people and become the archetypal Los Angeles beachsurfing rockstar into his old age if he wanted to, but instead he chose to have his hands in this remote vineyard and community project of his and essentially make it his day job. I think that’s really cool and commendable, and he’s probably just beginning the process of transitioning from one profession he enjoys to the next; a musician with his hand in winemaking to a winemaker with his hand in music.
omg I can’t believe someone managed to film Danny!! That’s truly awesome cheers!

You may be right, but I just feel like TOOL won’t be around much longer. Obviously, I hope like hell that I’m wrong.
So I wonder how i can obtain copies of these videos from youtube.
I did a google search for how to download you-tube videos, but they all led me to less than reputable looking third-party websites. (Not gunna trust that one second)
So how do i safely and securely download these videos from you tube?
And/Or is the original video file owner a frequent visitor to the site.
Thanks for the help

If you’re using Firefox as your web browser, then there’s plenty of good Add-ons that will download from Youtube. It’s reasonably easy to do with the right tool, though personally I don’t really download or collect stuff off Youtube.
Copy and paste this bookmarklet url into your bookmarks folder, and then when you visit a youtube page click it to download the source .mp4 file: save youtube video
