Fourtheye Maintenance

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water…..
Recently, I’ve been considering how to best use Fourtheye as a more social site, and how to best give readers a method to communicate more freely with each other, and also to share their opinions on items that aren’t neccessarily covered by Fourtheye. To achieve this, I have been contemplating installing a WordPress plugin called Buddypress, which add a whole load of features, including Private Messaging, Friends Lists, Groups, Status Updates and more. Give that there has been a recent influx of Toolarmy readers in the last week, I feel now is a good a time to take advantage of these features as there has ever been.
However to get this on, means I need to change my version of WordPress from vanilla to MU, and as a result will require some downtime. Unlike Toolarmy though, I expect this will only take a couple of hours this evening Australian time (early morning US time) and we’ll be back. Also unlike Toolarmy, it’ll have some new features, so it’s good all round.

Except for the Tip Jar item on the top right of the screen, there’s nothing else I can suggest you do. Turning Adblocking off in your browser for Fourtheye would be a good thing though…
