Go without any expectations and you’ll have a great time. The only thing missing is the popcorn.

Nice, I’ll definitely see the show in Atlanta.

Unlike pas tours, it appears as though there aren’t as many back to back shows in the same town this time round

Western tour: 21 shows in 14 cities (7 cities with single shows)
Eastern tour: 23 shows in 13 cities (4 cities with single shows)

what seems to be the first non-US date in Toronto

    Vancouver is in Canada.
Not trying to be a wise-ass. Just pointing out a couple of things.

ug – The Living Theatre in Philly is NOT a good venue for this.  I just saw a show there this past saturday.  They dont allow re-entry and sometimes dont allow people to take their drinks away from the bar area….where the stage is not visable from most places. The upstairs is so damn hot, sticky and humid because the building is so old, that only a race of dragon-people could stand the tropical- sauna-like conditions.  Not only that, but the sound was HORRIBLE (and I saw some bluegrass style music which is hard to fuck up).  From what some reviews have said its a very loud, bass driven show and I dont think the TLA can handle it…be warned.
Friday night in D.C. looks like a prime show.  Too bad the Warner Theatre could not host this event though…that venue is amazing.

I can’t believe Saint Louis actually got a show, usually I have to go to Kansas City or Chicago.  The Orpheum in Saint Louis is going to be perfect for this. Can’t wait, I will now be checking for ticket information constantly over the next few days.

    Chicago!  Finally!

YES!  The Vic is a great venue too.  It was built about 100 years ago, and they have a giant disco ball.  Not a bad seat in the house.

You’re going to be bummed that you’re missing a damn good live show… or you should be.

Trust me, I was not expecting to dig it because I am (still) not a fan of the PussyFur studio releases… but it was killer. Especially if Herb is the main man on the kit. Well worth the time and money to see the show. But it’s not like I don’t understand where you’re coming from…

Maybe if there was a birmingham date and I wanted to blow the 100 dollars or whatever it cost, I MIGHT go, but not gonna drive to atlanta, during the week (taking a day off work) to see them. I just don’t know cause the recordings suck ass IMO…..I better be quiet before I say to much (if I hadn’t already), someone might log into TA and denounce me…LOL!!
Anyways good to talk to you guys none the less.

Anyone know an approximate ticket price? Or, what tickets were generally going for on the last tour?

  15. nathanNo Gravatar | December 17th, 2009 at 5:49 am

I did not attend last tour, but i believe some (better seats) were going for 100-120 including ticketbastard fees….

Ticketbastard sucks balls, this much we know. As for the Puscifer show, it is very well worth checking out. I’m debating driving 5 hours to see them is St Louis or Kansas City. They put on an amazing show, and V is for Vagina does not do them justice. It’s just an okay” album,” and I never thought I’d say that about an album with an MJK stamp on it.  But, let me make this as clear as possible, THE LIVE VERSIONS OF THEIR SONGS ARE LIGHT-YEARS BETTER!! I know it’s hard to just take someone’s word for it, but this show is definitely something I would classify as “worth going out of your way for.”

I wonder if the 2 shows at the same city are the same? If so, is there really that big of a following to warrant 2 dates for most cities?

That would be a big fat NO!  When he does multiple shows in the same city, each night is different.  Some minor things will be the same, but he does different skits, different videos and different versions of the songs.  When CJ29 and I went to Vegas, we were blown away by Sunday nights acoustic version of Momma Sed.  It was beautiful.  If you come, DO NOT expect the MJK from TooL or APC.  He really is a funny muthafucka!

Well we’re gonna have a busy week aren’t we? If possible, we might as well squeeze in the other AIC date and make five in a week! I think that’ll be a new record. lmao

HAHAHA….try getting that one past the wife! I’m thinking we should do the bone garden cantina for dinner one evening and the vortex the other evening. Now I have to figure out if I should take off Wednesday AND Thursday or just Thursday. One thing is certain….I will be exhausted by the end of it!

We still have 2 bottles of wine that have not been enjoyed yet. I’m thinking we should crack one open on Tuesday. I wish we could just buy a bottle of Chupacabra at the shows!

Bone garden and vortex sound like excellent choices. AND, we have a bottle we can crack open on Wednesday. This is going to be the LONGEST birthday party I’ve ever had.

Ticket prices may vary on the venue.

Vip or meet and greet pacakges are 199.00. These tickets will get you front row seating. I think they reserve the first couple of rows for these tickets.

Regular seating was going for 49.95-69.95.

Seriously check this show out if you get the chance. You will see maynard perform like he has never done with TOOL or APC. Very intimate shows. The players change so you will just have to check closer to your show time to see who will be playing what instruments.

Tim Alexander was the costume boy the last go around. Maynard had him dressed up as different characters for each show. He was pocahontus in dallas. (thanksgiving show) He played drums on several songs as well. Jony Polonsky played guitar and keyboards. Carina Round did the female vocals and was absolutely great as well as very HOT.

  34. juniorNo Gravatar | December 18th, 2009 at 10:47 am

The players change so you will just have to check closer to your show time to see who will be playing what instruments.

On the fall tour, it mostly broke down like this (if memory serves):
Tim Alexander : Drums on “Religion” night. Percussion on”Cuntry”, and “Camping” nights. Drums for “Mama Sed” on the “Camping” night.
Jeff Friedl : Drums on “Cuntry” and “Camping” (except “Mama Sed”) nights, percussion on “Religion” night.
Matt McJunkins : Bass on “Cuntry” night and “Camping” night. Guitar on “Religion” night. Some keys on all nights.
Mat Mitchell : Bass on “Religion” night. Guitar and some keys on “Cuntry” and “Camping” nights. Mandolin on some nights.
Jonny Polonsky : Guitar and keys on all nights. Lap steel and banjo on “Cuntry” night.
Carina Round : Vocals, acoustic guitar, and mandolin on all nights. Banjo on “Cuntry” night.
Maynard : Vocals, mandolin, wine, and whatever else on all nights.
Laura Milligan : Vocals on “Cuntry” night only.

I might have missed a few things in there, but that’s mostly accurate. All performers (except Laura Milligan) were there on all nights.
The shows in the spring will probably follow a similar format, but there could always be some different performers depending on availability, and different versions of the show, as well.

As you know Junior (or at least I do, because I was talking to you 8`), I was there on “Religion” night, and from what I hear, that was a good thing for me. I was floored by Tim on the kit, as I’ve mentioned before, and it was just a great overall show, as you and others recommended. I hope that some people who are reticent due to the studio material or whatever will keep an open mind and check it out… well worth it. Thanks again for the rec, and thanks for continuing to provide insight on this stuff with your unique perspective. Much appreciated.
