Danny Drums with BC/DC

Danny February 4th, 2010

A video had found it’s way onto the net with Danny Carey on drums for AC/DC coverband BC/DC.  The track is Back In Black and I imagine you all know how it goes….

Thanks to fodasse for the tip!

yeah look at those huge smiles he’s putting out. good times.

and yes, Jambi has grown on me so much. I think JC shines the most on it. an earthquake of a song.

That was downright awful.  Seriously, that was really bad.  We’re obviously so desperate for anything TOOL related, because it’s been so long that they’ve done anything, that we are willing to accept this.

That’s not what I’m saying, but I’m sure you know that.  I’m referring to the fact that with or without Danny, that was a poor excuse for a tribute band.  The singer was awful, and out of key.  The guitar players couldn’t nail a riff that has been done better thousands of times on youtube by everyone and their grandmother.  And dude, the sound quality?  What the fuck was that?  It’s music.  It should stimulate your sense of hearing, not assault it.

I have to agree that was an assault on the ears. I highly recommend just turning off the volume. Danny looked like he was having a BALL!!!…..and that is what that video was all about.

I’m guessing Danny jump on the stool for a bit of fun. Who cares if it wasn’t rehearsed and filmed on a 35mm camera? Get into the vibe ya whinging fuckers

PFFFFFFT!! same ole same ole…… different site though.
BC/DC are an awesome cover band, shitty audio I agree. I have seen these guys play many times, since AC/DC don’t play small towns. They do a hella of a job kickin’ out the jams. They are from British Columbia Canada, hense the name BC/DC…. and to see Danny pounding the skins with them sends shivers down me spine. I can’t wait to see em again….. Danny too……
    Bottoms Up!

All I can say is Danny Carey is the fuckin man. He seems so kind and seems to have a big heart. I have so much respect for him especially after seeing a video with one of the best rock drummers of all time in one of the biggest bands in the world get up and play with a cover band with a huge smile on his face. I mean come on who does that, gotta love DC.

He definitely has a big heart and is a super nice guy. Couple months ago me and my gf were at a Volto! show and happened to meet one of Danny’s old friends (a guy, Chris, who Danny used to work with before Tool got big). Chris was nice enough to introduce us to Danny and actually kinda pressured Danny into taking a picture with me and my gf. He was kind enough to oblige his old friend (although I felt bad for the fans who tried to get a picture with him after we took our photo, as he kindly shot all of them down) and stayed and chatted with us all for a few minutes before heading outside to cool down.

    Definitely was an awesome experience.

Pure torture, indeed.  The only thing worse than AC/DC

hahaha I love how Danny is always as happy as a school girl no matter what video I watch… He just doesnt fit in with the “dark” scene of rock and roll… or the sarcastic and dark humor of MJK… lol I love Danny.
and seanhalas, I also went through a phase when all I listened to was Jambi over and over and over for like half a year. 10,000 Days is just a very bold and amazing album.

Even in inerviews he is beaming and seems to genuinly be enjoying himself. As far as Tool-cool I think the order goes.
    1.Danny
    2.Adam
    3.Justin
    4.Maynard
Also is it just me but the first year or two after 10000 days came out was I the only one who subconsciously didnt consider it a Tool album>
No wthat I listen to it, it is one of the more powerful albums but before it just didnt seem to fit in with their previous material.
    Now I really like it.

I love the guy in the cow outfit with the bald spot on top of his head that looks like a yam-aka(or better known as a Jewish helmet), Danny always looks like he’s having a blast. But I wish he was in the studio having a blast.

Was this the same Chris that played in the band Sturgeon? Sturgeon was the band Tool promoted on their website last year, but apparently they’ve broken up.

No idea. This Chris we met had worked with Danny at a Guitar Center (I think that’s where he said) way back before Tool took off. He said the 2 of them (Chris and Danny) would goof off while delivering music equipment in the company van.
