A Perfect Circle confirm West Coast Tour

According to a recent post on the Tool Hotline, it’s been confirmed in the Team Puscifer message boards that there will be a West Coast A Perfect Circle tour.

No details have been announced in regards to dates and venues, or who will actually be in the band. It’s safe to say that Maynard, Billy and Josh Freese will be involved, but the rest of the bands makeup seems to be open at this stage. My guess is we’ll see some Ashes Divide members fill the slots.

i just transferred some cash into the savings account. hopefully, one of the dates will be Seattle. and anywhere within a state or two, i will be there. Are we thinking this fall??
concerns me a little about the forthcoming new TOOL album, but i will take anything APC/TOOL related. the other 3 can still put all the musical arrangements together, and then MJK can come in at the end and put hi vocal stamp on it.

    life is good!

These “West Coast” tours throw me off.  Tool announces that and then they come to Louisiana, Oklahoma, and (luckily) Missouri, which I do not consider West Coast.  I guess that west of the Mississippi River counts as West Coast.  I’m hoping for Saint Louis, Kansas City, or Chicago.  If not then Denver or Texas is where I’ll be flying.  Will not miss them…

You’re right. I completely forgot about that. I HOPE they come to Texas. I’ll definitely make it anywhere in the state. I have a wedding to plan so taking trips to Cali just isn’t in the budget right now.

Hopefully with the amount of love Kansas City showed Tool and Puscifer this year, Maynard and Billy will bring APC around to complete the trilogy.

Am I alone in feeling kind of, “meh” about this?  APC has always felt like TOOL-light to me, and eMotive… well, uh hum.

Maynard’s tryin to rake it in as much as possible obviously. All the songs are all sort of old news, so the only way it can work is by making it a new experience somewhat (which is rather exciting). My guess is theyre gonna revisit Mer De Noms mostly and probably have a lot of in-between extras.

It is sort of odd that theyre bringing it back without any new material?

How do you know there is no new material? They haven’t even announced the dates yet. Maynard mentioned last year they were working on a few new songs.

uh, yah! my guess is you are pretty alone on that thought. APC is totally different than TOOL, and i bet 99% of the people on here are happy to hear they are working together again. although i do have to agree with the E-motive comment to a certain extent. i would have preferred original material as a third album.

On 8/17 they announced on WMMS in Cleveland that recording for the new album is already FINISHED. Maynard is waiting to get off the road with TOOL to go back to the studio to “place the finishing touches” on it. They are also launching a small “world” tour afterwards, which may or may not be expanded later. In a final note, Maynard states that he had originally planned to go into the studio with Trent Reznor by the end of this year, but the timing isn’t right. He says Trent is finishing another project now and when the APC tour is done they will write/record a new project together. “Great things are happening”….great things indeed.

WMMS is a radio station or something I presume? This sort of corresponds with what I’ve heard. My understanding is that there hasn’t been any recording yet, but they are pretty much ready to go. Based on things I’ve heard about the plaec I’m guess we’ll see Tool hitting the studio soon, followed by an APC mini-tour in Nov/Dec, then possibly some shows in Oz in Jan/Feb.

From the syntax, it sounds like the new A Perfect Circle album is done, not the new TOOL album.

The syntax is too vague to make that assumption imo. Also I’m almost positive APC haven’t recorded anything resembling and album.

That’s pretty much what I’m saying, but I won’t be selling chocolate if I’m wrong.
