Pre-Sale Wrap Up, Adam Jones Interview

Well the pre-sales happened earlier today. Brisbane went about as smoothly as you’d hope. Tickets may even still be available if you haven’t got them already. Melbourne on the other handle was a cock up of epic proportions. In between wrong passwords, My Ticketmaster pre-sales and the late availablilty of Gold Tickets, there’s a wide range of fans, myself included who feel a little pissed that they missed out. Good news it that we at least have Monday to try again, and getting lawn tickets at the back wasn’t all that hard. Anyone who wants to help me out with with a gold ticket should let me know.

Some are hoping there might be some kind of second pre-sale to make up for the mistakes made on the first. I think this is pretty unlikely to happen, so don’t go getting your hopes up.

In more interesting news, there’s a short interview with Adam on Gun Shy Assassin where he talks about Faith No More amongst other things…

I ask Adam if he’d please tour with Faith No More. Then, I get the answer I wanted to hear. “I’m up for anything,” Jones tells Gun Shy. “I’m the guy in the band who wants to tour, who will drop what he’s doing and hit the books. But there’s just…you know, I’m married to three other guys and we’re all very different, so…I am [down to tour with Faith No More], and if something like that happened, it would be amazing but…hey, it is what it is.”

A Faith No More/Tool tour would be the greatest tour in history.

My 2 favourite bands of all time, together…. I think I’d die from overstimulation.

Anyone here lucky enough to catch em both at ‘Alternate nations’ back in the early 90’s???

Saw FNM earlier this year at Soundwave and festival hall, great shows, they definitely still got it. A Tool/FNM tour would be mind blowing

Just re-watched a bit of the New Orleans 2010 DVD to psych myself up… holy shit it’s going to be amazing, wherever you are in the vicinity. I’m thinking they’ll probably play the same setlist as the 2010 summer US tour.

I would love to see a tool/deftones tour together, that would be awesome…hold on…that’s what you guys down under are pretty much getting! Seeing Serj from system join Maynard for ‘sober’ in Auckland was epic, a tool/system revival tour would be cool : )

With regards to the Melbourne tickets, all the people I know there who wanted tickets got them, so lets hope the fans did get the majority of what was on offer!

I saw Tool and Tomahawk once and Tool with Fantomas as well.
Also Tricky and King Krimson. Recently the openers have been
pretty boring in my opinion. FNM and Tool would be awesome!

FNM and Tool would be awesome! I saw all of those openers as well, along with Isis. Crimson was the best experience, but it was also at a small venue, and the Lateralus pre-seminal show. I agree that all of the 10,000 Days tour openers I got were quite weak IMO as well. On the other hand, my first choice seeing TººL is no opener, with a… Read more »

admin – 9 hours ago  »  I’ve detached myself from the internet this evening, and I’m now back after pondering todays situation. I’m still disappointed with how today went, there were some big cockups that probably aren’t going to be rectified.  it sucks, but then again last week i wasn’t expecting a pre-sale at all. There is a massive positive though.  No one I know missed out on getting a ticket.  Sure, people (myself included) didn’t get the seats they’d have liked, but no one I’ve spoken to missed out on tickets. That’s a pretty big deal.  Back in 2007… Read more »
excellent attitude! i’m just super excited to be going at all. also, from memory, how quickly did the 2007 shows sell out?
There was no presale, and from memory Melbourne sold out in less than 30 minutes.  Sydney was about the same.
I think despite all the dramas yesterday, the fact we got tickets at all is a good thing.
yeah, agreed. i was super worried i wouldn’t get tickets at all so lawn tickets is a big win over no tickets!

With the lawn just get in their early – if there is a huge arse queue around the venue ignore it and walk straight to the gates.. people always seem to queue at the Music Bowl when theres no need.. if you have to queue do it from the start not the end. When you get on the lawn area, get a position early and hold it.. it’ll end up  like a mini-mosh pit in the prime areas on the lawn – dont wear thongs if its 40 degrees unless you wanna kick back.  The good thing about the Lawn… Read more »

Hello HELLBOY!!

on a side note, sorry to change the subject. can you post some info on APC now that the tour has started. i am trying to find some reviews, and info on the shows. i found a little on thursdays nights show, but would love to hear/see more. i am going to all 3 seattle shows, and need a preview.

back on topic, why do some folks like FNM so much? i have seen a live show on Palladia channel, and didnt feel much substance was there. vocals were kind of a joke?

Or Muse for that matter?

Yeah but Muse are terrible. King for a Day Fool for a Lifetime is up there on my greatest albums ever though. I think seanhalas was referring to how mike patton just doesn’t try to sing properly in some songs. But that’s just the nature of the band. As it was with Kyuss sometimes and so many other greats.

Lets be a bit reasonable. I understand that you may not like Muse and I understand that for some they have become over exposed. To dismiss them as terrible though seriously diminishes any opinion to follow.
By the way the FNM show at Soundwave this year was for-nominal. Mike Patton’s vocal was fantastic shifting effortlessly through genres.

I said the same for the T row set yesterday… my assumption, sadly, is it won’t be that easy as ticket prices will inflate drastically around 10am tomorrow

So whats the deal. Obviously Ticketmaster is for Melbourne and Ticketek is for Brisbane… But on the Ticketek website it says “tickets no longer on sale” I assume for the presale, as it says the proper time at the top of the page… but this leads me to think, “is that Melbourne time or Brisbane time”. Ugh but I think because they have separate websites, it whatever time it says for that venue.
