Tool hit Hawaii

As was hinted in several newsletters, Blair has confirmed that Tool will be hitting Hawaii in 2011:

TOOL will be performing at BLAISDELL ARENA in HONOLULU, HI (OAHU) on JANUARY 14, 2011. The public on-sale date for TICKETS is SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 20 at 9AM (HST – 2 HOURS behind Pacific Time).

Seems like a nice way to start the year and get warmed up for the Australian and New Zealand shows.  Enjoy Hawaiians!

Set list? I saw the last leg of there U.S. tour, so kind of hoping for something different! Although, i could watch them play third eye all night long. Any chance of a second night? Seems weird they would go to Hawaii only for one show. Why do they not change up the set list more? I know they like to nail sets, and do, but it would be nice not to know what your getting.

They don’t normally play more than one show there do they? I’m sure everyone would love to see two shows played in their town but it isn’t really going to happen . . .

Why not? TOOL happened to play two live shows in Hawaii back-to-back in 2006:

2006 19 Aug Honolulu, HI US Blaisdell Concert Hall 2006 US Arena
2006 18 Aug Honolulu, HI US Blaisdell Concert Hall 2006 US Arena

Dear Santa Claus:

Hi! It’s me, David. I have been good. This year. i hope you are good too. For Christams, I would like two round-trip tickets to Hawaii, good through all of January 2011, along with two tickets to the TOOL show that month, along with at least 10,000 days of spending cash. I have been a good boy this year and would love to have this, Santa. Thank you. I have been a good boy.

Thank you

David

P.S. I will make you homemade cookies and real milk, not the bad kind.

I will be there.  I’m sooo excited.  I think they will announce another date, hopefully for saturday night.  Epic vacation in the making either way.  I’ll be bringing my golf clubs if anyone else wants to play a round somewhere.  i’d also be down for some hiking.  I know one person in HI but haven’t talked to them in over half a year.  I think a few fellow TAers that I know are going too.  anyone else?

Do you have a place, besides a pricey hotel, where people from the mainland can crash if they decide to get a ticket to see TOOL?

Maybe, but if I would fly to Hawaii just to see TOOL live, I would like to make a miniature vacation out of it without blowing a ton of money on some expensive touristy hotel.

Yeah, i agree. I’m all for working together on this one – for all the reasons you mentioned. As for getting first row tickets, that’s a bit more difficult. One tool thing thats on my bucket list is to sit on the front row at one show. i’ve been as close as 14 (not including GA of course). anyway, I’ll sure the fuck try to get first row tickets.

i may be able to swing that too, from a scalper. I always figured that would be where I would have to get front row seats for. So it’s ticketmaster that’s doing this one, i take it. You just calling into the ticketmaster number? is there a trick to it? I usually go by an atomic clock and just click it right at the first second they go on sale. It usually works out that way. but never have i gotten one in the first ten rows.

Idea to help people save money while not staying in the slums.
Go to ebay and look for time share in Honolulu and bam there you
go. Get a fat 2 bedroom and throw down with about 6 people. You
will be partying in style without going broke!

I will be sleeping on the beach in a mexican blanket. Im really hoping for a good ticket and a good set list. Ticketmaster is the worst, they have screwed me over more than once. First row seems like a stretch, but im all for trying. All you can do is try to be fast and lucky. Tool and strippers, fuck, im so down. Anyone else want to shave their heads into mullet-mohakws for the show?
