Tool November 2010 Newsletter

Sometime over the weekend (not sure when as I was away caving) Blair posted the November Tool newsletter on Toolband.  Looks like an interesting read!

Haha classic:

Sounds like someone cracked a fat without a franger.

Nice one Blair, that New Orleans gig sounds awesome too…

Blair is his usual douchebag self. Not even going to bother reading that properly. With him there’s a fine line with his ego and reality.

I hope Danny Carey keeps to his word and makes sure that the new album will be flowing from one song to the next – almost a conceptual album instead of such a fragmented mess like 10K days.

Hell, I just liked reading that work on the new album is still going on. I wish there would have possibly been an update on the site, but it was down when I joined so I guess I will just have to wait. 10,000 Days on vinyl will be sweet. I cant wait to see what they play in Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia. I hope all you guys have a hell of a time. I would give my left nut to see a Tool show in New Zealand, but I dont fly very well, and a boat ride that… Read more »

What type of interview? Anything band related?

An interview with Tool while they are in Australia.  Nothing is confirmed yet, according to the promoter they’re not even sure Tool will be doing any interviews yet, but if they are then I will be considered.  Should this happen (I’m not holding my breath) then I’ll be calling out for questions…

what do you do for a living? i am assuming you work for some kind of media outlet to even be considered for any type of interview with the band.

If you do get the interview and they end up being rude in any type of way. You need to conclude the interview by getting them to autograph the setlist shirt from 2009 or the Fuck Blair shirt. I am sure they would get a kick out of that.

What Hammer said. Even though I personally enjoyed the album immensely and still do, we’d probably all be better off if we let people have their opinions. It’s been 4 years. Good or bad, the album has left the mark it is going to leave.

i am letting him have is opinion. i am not saying “his” opinion is wrong.

“my” opinion is that he is delusional for thinking that.

I’m pretty sure Fourtheye counts as a media outlet at this point. This is where everypne gets their Tool news.

Not only that^ but it would be sooo awesome to have an actual hardcore fan to ask some questions for a change. Rather than some music snob who dabbles in all kinds of music and has a vague interest in our favorite band. I have a few questions I would like to know the answer to, like how do they come up with the set lists for each show?

been waiting years for 10000 Days to be released on Vinyl, i imagine the packaging and picture discs will be something special. here’s hoping for a release of signed copies for TA members as per Lateralus all those years ago..

Definitely curious to know how they’ll translate the ‘10,000 Days’ packaging to vinyl. I’d love to see some larger stereoscopic images, but my guess is it’ll be something completely different, similar to how they handled ‘Lateralus.’

Twist type thing? Greatest hits would be cool. But what would be chosen? Hopefully a greatest hits for the hardcore fans. And is there any validity to that statement, or just crap? Im pumped for the hawaii show. Hopefully we get some good posters and an amazing set.

If it was a tool fan’s setlist, it would probably contain tracks like hooker, jerk-off and possibly ticks and leeches – in other words, the songs they never play live.  not trying to get into a ‘what’s your favourite tool song’ tangent.

you could be so lucky as to get Jakob in Hawaii (extreme sarcasm…..) i’ve DL their stuff in anticipation of the Brisbane sideshow, very underwhelming IMO… i was hoping for Mastodon or Isis…. to no avail.
