Blair released the July 2011 Tool newsletter earlier on Toolband today, and it’s largely in the format of a Q&A with questions submitted by drug taking readers. Of importance to our “Tool news only” fans:
Assuming that you know all about the A PERFECT CIRCLE tour and new PUSCIFER TRACK ("MAN OVERBOARD"), other than another TOOL WEBSITE MEETING on Friday, DANNY being the guest drummer for the Monday Night Jammmz (JULY 25), and on-going TOOL WRITING SESSIONS at the loft, there’s not much news this month. Therefore, let’s answer some of the more relevant e-mail, shall we…

Soon, ideas began to flow, and it wasn’t long before the rehearsal space was filled with heavy guitar riffs and drums, an arrangement with sublime resolution and transitions. In short, the sound of Tool… But, to answer the question: they haven’t started recording yet…
Quite an amusing newsletter this month and worth the read!
Just finished reading myself, definitely one of the better newsletters I’ve read. I actually chuckled once or twice.

Rynne just revealed on Children of Saturn that the skin on the exhaust pipe was discovered when they found Levi licking it!
Interesting read, funny and rude, which im down with. Sometimes it only seems like the mentally fat fans email Blair, and the same questions. But you have to imagine that happens with all bands. Somebody’s got to do it i suppose. Everything on this album in progress seems extremely tight lipped, hopefully for grand reason.

why think less of Adam for going to some wrestling event? he has more disposable income than your or I most likely, and hell it can be fun to go see. (i haven’t been since i was a kid with my dad, but it is fun) I don’t think Adam spends is Monday nights at home wearing a ripped up hulkamania yellow shirt, and smacking Camilla in the face with a stuffed ultimate warrior wrestling buddy.
I know I should not take Blair seriously when he does things like this. But, you know, this date: 52222012 in the numerology answer is very blatant. And because it is so blatant, I should not take it seriously. Lateralus came out in May 2001 and 10,000 days in May 2006. So, yeah. One can only hope.

@Naattik Haha! …actually my question about the Lateralus tour was legit. I was curious about the Tuvan throat-singing. In fact, check this out….it’s from 1999 off Letterman. I am impressed he had this musical guest instead of Nsync or someone of that nature. In the newsletter, there is a reference to the white board they use in the practice space. He says it has written on it things like “glue 8” and “strait 4”. These words can be seen on the white board on a recently tagged Facebook photo by Mikey Wheels. Befriend Adam or Danny on FB to see what I’m talking about.
