M.T.Void and Crystal Castles track emerge

The other day on the Children of Saturn radio show, Justin Chancellor played a few interesting tracks including two new M.T.Void tracks, as well as a remixed Crystal Castles track that he was involved with.

Some thoughtful lad or ladette pushed play on their recording device and uploaded the track to Soundcloud for your listening pleasure:

Crystal Castles – Celestica (Remix by Justin Chancellor and Scott Kirkland) by fortysixand2 M.T.void – Unknown by fortysixand2 M.T.void – Toad by fortysixand2

Toad seems to feature some vocals by Justin, which is a pleasant surprise.  According to Twitter the M.T.Void album is expected to be released before the end of the year.

Let us know what you think of the tracks.

You’re welcome.. and I’m a dude, man. The new MTvoid tracks sound great, especially Toad, and I’m looking forward to the full length album. I never really cared for Crystal Castles but the remix is bitchin. If anyone can help out with the name of the other track, it would be greatly appreciated. I think it starts with an “I” and has two words?

Didn’t mind the other two though,… Read more »

I can hear a lot of Crystal Castles influence in M.T. Void. They seem to have a similar style and artistic direction as them. Especially because of the electronic elements.

decent stuff…i can hear some club influence in there and some industrial feel as well. It would be good music to clean the house to…

Funny but i can hear the influence Justin puts in Tool. The voice reminds me of front line assembly. Sounds good.

I just got that Crystal Castles album yesterday. I only heard Celestica on the radio before but I really love that song.

Crystal Castles is great if you open your mind to them. It takes time sink in just like any other real music should.

I dunno man, maybe get a live drummer and I wont be so quick to turn it off. I had a clever analogy regarding someone so rhythmically gifted playing to a lifeless drum machine, but fuck it.

I think M.T. Void is Justin’s Puscifer. It’s just another outlet for him to express himself but with a more fun, silly attitude.

^^^ tend to agree with the Puscifer comparison. Toad is a pretty sick track, looking forward to cranking when I get home…

i’d like to hear DC do a side project like this…something experimental and trippyish….and no, smoking massive amounts of weed with Volto covering old Joe Walsh tunes or acidic jamming in Stewart Copeland’s basement do not count in my eyes…

You don’t want Justin up on a platform beside Danny do you? Think how lonely Adam’ll be.

Holy Shit. Justin needs to do a solo album, with just a drum machine, bass and him singing. I love his singing.

Take a listen to what Joe Lally of Fugazi did with his solo stuff. he’s not a singer, but he comes up with really creative stuff anyways!

Maybe the next big rap album will be a collaboration between Kanye West, Jay Z and J-Chan

I was think thinking of someone more like MF Doom, Mos Def, Andre Nickatina, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, or maybe a group like Gorillaz, or possibly the much less popular group Panacea.

Hellboy, can you fix the link on the main page? Thanks. Audio still plays but link is broken. It’s now located at http://soundcloud.com/fortysixand2/m-t-void-czien-i-noc instead of http://soundcloud.com/fortysixand2/m-t-void-unknown

Bass at the end of Toad would have sounded good on a Tool record, thought the other tunes rambled a bit…
