Danny records with Feersum Ennjin

Looks like in between playing with King Crimson, Volto! and writing Tool songs, Danny has found time to record a track with Feersum Ennjin called The Fourth.  Here’s the story from Facebook:

We’re moving the release date of "Feersum Ennjin" back to Nov. 22 so we can include a new song, "The Fourth." "The Fourth" was recorded very recently and reunited Paul with his former band mate, Danny Carey, for the first time since 1995’s Aenima.

Should be an interesting album, and I’ll definitely be giving it a listen!

wait wait…Does Paul sing in Feersum Ennjin? Shit he could rejoin Tool and replace Maynard! Or Justin could sing and Paul could play bass.

/Justin would kick him out of the loft while chanting “Paul is a cunt”. And Tool would use the Paul is a cunt rhythm on their latest cool tune.

Tool has not been the same without Paul.   While JC may be more talented, but they lost those low driving riffs that used to define Tool.  I would love to see him record a song or two on the next album.

Its funny how I don’t see any negative comments about Danny recording songs with another band/side projects… I guess the opinion of our uninformed halfwit fortheye subscribers must be right, it really is only Maynard holding up progress for the new TOOL album.

Really bad attempt at being facetious. Danny playing a few shows or recording a song or two does not equate to starting other fucking band(s) releasing multiple CD’s, touring, selling shooting targets/shitty clothing, or calling Tool a “part time” project. Fail.

I’m looking forward to hearing the track. I dug Paul as a bassist and his contributions to early TººL material. Not as much as a composer/vocalist on his own material, but I’ve appreciated some of the post-TººL stuff he’s done. I’m glad Danny was nice enough to collaborate with him, as I’m sure it will help focus some much needed attention on this project.

And Danny Carey played on “Free Mars” (1997) by Lusk.

That “album” was terrible. It was basically the first EP with a few other songs that had been around for years thrown in, as well as that tacked-on DC track. There were exactly three songs that we hadn’t heard before in some form. Why it was treated as a full-length debut album I’ll never know. What a fucking rip-off.

And yet when it was released, everyone hailed it for being a miracle of modern music. I don’t understand music fans anymore.

It could only be a rip off if you actually purchase it, and I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest you didn’t…

Nice limb.
