It’s common knowledge for a week or so now that Meshuggah will be releasing their new album on the 26th of March, but today it was revealed on the Nuclear Blast website that the new album should be called Koloss. You can now order it on the website in the following formats:
- Koloss + MAGIC CUBE which includes a CD and DVD
- Koloss 2LP Brown Vinyl Edition
Not sure what a Magic Cube is, but either way I’m pretty excited for this album, and equally excited to be seeing them play at Soundwave here in early March.
I’m so excited for this.
ObZen was fantastic and I can’t wait to hear the next step in their evolution as pioneers of the (extreme) metal genre.

I went to ONE Lateralus show…..ONE….and these guys opened….during their set, I cracked my skull open….no joke….missed my dream TOOL set which will never be played again….
Meshuggah recorded 2 quality albums up to this point in the last 6 years. Tool hasn’t released diddlysqwat. Tool are on the record – the laziest band to have ever walked the earth.

New Meshuggah album is going to be fucking epic. Nice to see a band where all four members are dedicated.
Iv been waiting for this album. Obzen was awesome. So, i think their just progressing at this point, hope it kicks ass.

Meshuggah is my favorite band after TOOL, and they’re a VERY close second. These guys are just incredible. I can’t wait for this album.

Nah, it was just a guess, especially since they have a new album out, and are playing a festival here in Oz.
Album artwork is fuggin amazing as usual. Meshuggah is, quite simply, the most talented metal band on the planet. Syncopation at it’s absolute finest.

Meshuggah are an acquired taste, no doubt. Definitely one of the best metal bands going around at the moment though.

Side Note: Apparently Rynne went to the Meshuggah – Koloss listening party in LA at The Slidebar Rock’N’Roll Kitchen on January 19th. How cool must that have been?
I was surprised when I didn’t see Danny in any of the photos from that party. I have no doubt that all of Tool would have been invited.
They were on tour. The listening party was Jan 19th. Rynne did say that Danny would be jealous that he couldn’t be there.
New Meshuggah track is exceptional. KOLOSS is going to rock. Tomas mentioned in the youtube interview that this album has a more organic feel and I can definitely hear that. Sort of a hybrid of Chaosphere, Nothing, and Obzen. Meshuggah just raise the bar time and again.
