Puscifer to play Bonnaroo

Confirmed just a little while ago, it seems that Puscifer will be joining such great acts as Radiohead, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Skrillex at the 2012 Bonnaroo festival.

^ You mean Country Boneroo? Boneroo is a fitting location for Pussyfur to land.

I guess this is Helboy’s way to get more participation on the Blog? 8`)

Skrillex and great should never occupy the same sentence. Except for possibly “great waste of time”

Have no idea who Skrillex is, but Puscifer, RHCP and Radiohead sounds like a pretty damn good concert to me!

I still don’t get the hate you have for Radiohead. You don’t have to like them; everybody has different tastes. But I don’t get why you are so against them.

There is not much at bonnaroo for the Tool fans this year, but some of you might enjoy Danzig or Mogwai.

Fucking bullshit. Obviously Tool will not be recording the new album in June now. Fucking sick of Puscifer.

Any glimmer of hope that the new Tool album will be out this year just got destroyed. Nardo will be doing his wine thing in August/September. Realistically, the time it takes to record, master, and actually get the CD out, with this bullshit Puscifer news in June, it means we will be lucky to see a new Tool album until Spring of 2013. I had hope that Tool might record and master in the summer and release after the wine harvest, but that is highly doubtful. If Maynard is on the road with Puscifer in June obviously he won’t be… Read more »

@ HB – You can edit the post and remove the language. Wasn’t thinking about this being front page blog and not forum. My bad.

I am quite sure we all have very full lives Hellboy. A bit of a snarky response there. You understood my point. If this Puscifer news ends up being more than a one off in June, than realistically we would be looking for at a 2013 Tool release. Seven years between albums. Mind boggling.

@Naattik – my thoughts exactly, this is a little slice of social/forum engineering to engage our our participation on the blog! OK it worked. Until I see Puscifer taking the leap outside of the comfortable US of A I have little interest in their goings on. I’d love to see a show and until I do that’s probably about it. As for Tool’s upcoming album I do have a lot of events programmed over the next couple of years and sometimes if you lose your spot in the cue you just have to wait. If I was Tool I’d get… Read more »

Not having the new album done and released this year would be ridiculous considering they have been working on it since early last year. I am certainly not losing my shit but it sort of reaffirms, sadly, what my original thoughts were about the Tool tour earlier this year. This is a blog/discussion forum. That is my opinion on the matter. I will talk more when the forum is back up. Let the Puscifer fans enjoy what they would consider good news I imagine.

For those that have never checked out Black Star, definitely worth seeing. Mos Def and Talib Kweli are fantastic. Skrillez blah I am already sick of Dubstep. There are a handful of Deadmau5 songs I like, but that is basically it. I am sure there will be some gems on the side stages, there always is at festival concerts. As for Radiohead I am with Hellboy. I think they are highly overrated. I don’t have any particular problem with them, just have never found anything interesting about their music. Everyone acts like they are ground breaking and that is simply… Read more »

@HB – I think if they hit the studio by May it could happen. Tool typically has everything just about done before they get into the studio. Recording and mastering doesn’t take that long. The biggest hold up is the actual release of the CD itself. At least I have the new Meshuggah to look forward too. A band that writes music as complex, if not more complex, than Tool and manages to do so in a fairly reasonable amount of time.

Why does everything with Tool have to be negative? What if they did the winter tour because the album is done and it’s mastering is being done now? Not saying it is but I’m not going to be negative about it
Maynard is simply 1/4 of Tool I’m sorry but the album not being out already is not his fault

@ Baseball – Things don’t get negative until you hit year 6 and nothing new has come out. It only took three years between Undertow and Aenima. Then 5 years to Lateralus. Another 5 to 10,000 Days. Okay we get it, that is how Tool operates. This time though, we are on year 6, and probably are looking at year 7 before we see a new album. Tool will always be my favorite band and they have certainly gotten plenty of money from me over the years. But being a Tool fan can grate on your nerves.

I understand what your saying man…. I never said it was ridiculous with the whole half decade between albums but at least they give a tour and show they still have it. I damn near thought tool was done after Lateralus … ’01 release then ’01-’02 tour and nothing at all until ’06.

And why does 1 gig in June supposedly mess everything up I mean this puscifer tour ends in a few days then there is the rest of march, April and may before bonaroo soo anything could happen

@Baseball – I get where you are coming from as well dude. Just was really hoping the Puscifer cycle would be done after this spring tour and the focus would be on Tool. As HB said, Bonaroo might be just a one off, but at this point, whether it is warranted or not, it just feels like another delay.

I personally think its just a little goin into “hiatus” show in June for puscifer because I think Maynard knows damn good and well that once the Tool album IS done he’s going to have to tour it for more than 16-20 shows so the puscifer and Apc stuff will have to be out the door

I would say this is a one off show. Puscifer has hit pretty much all of the major markets while touring COMP.

I see RHCP and Radiohead as inconsistent, but I enjoy some things from both. RHCP’s song “Goodbye Hooray” is fun and funky, with an awesome bass solo. Radiohead’s “Paranoid Android” is just a masterpiece. Even if I don’t get excited about most of their stuff, I would rather listen to the worst of either than the “best” of Skrillex.

WRONG. Mastering and Mixing a commercial CD usually takes anywhere from 4-7 months. I have friends in the industry. Also, who the fuck… Read more »
