A couple of tour announcements for you all this morning, firstly from Puscifer who are doing a few dates around the Harriet Island Festival. Tickets go on sale on Friday the 27th here.

The Melvins also announced a tour this morning, this time in sunny Canada. It will be the Melvins Lite featuring Trevor Dunn on bass, so expect something a little different this time around:

Thank God puscifer will be doing more touring this summer, I really don’t want Tool rushing out their new album. I’m also hoping they take their time on their website design. I really feel they should take a break and go on a much needed vacation.
Has anyone done the VIP thing for Puscifer or heard of anyone who has? What is it? Do you get to see or meet Maynard at all?
I wanna Rage, but what is the point really? No new Tool album this year that is for sure now. Really sick of Puscifer. The only thing that bugs me is how Danny talked about hitting the studio in May or June and Maynard decides to go on tour with Puscifer in June. August/September is wine harvest season. Tool yet again taking a back seat. Shame.
Puscifer has overstayed its welcome. This is coming from someone that’s seen them twice and likes their albums (to a degree).
It seems like the LAST thing on the planet Maynard wants to do is hang out with Tool and write music together.
by the way, the little “movie” before the puscifer show is awful. its not funny at all.
when has blair said that danny adam and justin have even written strong structures? i thought he only said they were ‘jamming’??? maynard wont come in to do his part until songs are actually made and developed. its hard to add vocals to 3 minute jams. For christs fucken sake I hope the new tool album doesnt come out ever. Even when the new album comes out all you fucken cry babies are going to do is tell us how it sucks and how much you wish it sounded like undertow and aenima. Go listen to Koloss.
@Paradigm I did the soundcheck/whine tasting in Dallas. For soundcheck the band came out and played the humbling river and covered fleetwood macs the chain (2 songs that where not in the set. for the wine tasting we tasted 3 of MJK’s wine’s and MJK popped in for about 3 mins, said thankyou, gave a toast and left
Maynard could hammer out his parts in July easily. Vocals will need to be tracked last anyway, so the other 3 can do everything in May and June, and Maynard can do his stuff in July, and it could possibly still come out this year, or very early next year. Oh, and Rage.

When you show a picture of Danny playing drums, and it say “WITH HIS PART DOWN.”, that means it is a song finished. They aren’t simply jamming. When you say writing and arranging, that means songs are being completed enough for vocals to be written and worked on. It’s kind of hard to write 100% instrumental with no idea to what the vocals will be. Lots of re-writes have to happen to adjust to whatever Maynard does. Puscifer tours…Perfect Circle tours…grape harvests. What those things tell me is that Maynard wants to work. The guy loves to stay busy. Is he choosing those things instead of Tool? I doubt it. More likely they’re as a substitute while he waits for the other three guys to do their thing, and get ready for him.
