Blair has confirmed on Toolband that the arm posted by Adam on Twitter recently is in fact a Tool Production Still:

In case you missed Adam’s recent twitter post, here’s a production still from a new TOOL PROJECT that should be out in the Fall.
No word on what this project may be, I can speculate it is the rumoured video for The Pot, but at this stage information is scarce. Considering it’s due in the Fall, presumable we might get some more concrete details in the coming months.

This is may be a pipe dream, but it is outside the realm of possibility that it could be a video shoot for a new song/single.
Just because the album won’t be ready for release this year does that still mean they couldn’t have a song/ the first single off the record ready to go and are producing the video accordingly.
It’s not going to happen, but just maybe…

I think it is great that The Pot video is going to be released….but kinda late. I am way too excited about the new record to really care as much for the music video for a song off the last album from nearly 7 years ago being finally made. It would so amazing if it was the single from their new album. Either way though, its fuckin awesome news. Anything new Tool at this point is overwhelming.
Eh, like I said – pipe dream. We all know Fall will become Spring 😉

It would be such a fucking bummer if it was THE POT video. What would be the point of releasing a video of a single that was first played six years ago? Does not COMPUTE or sound logical to me.

I would imagine the point is that Adam enjoys being creative, and never got the chance to make one earlier. Why should the passing of time prevent him from doing one? I’m guessing some of you are still hung up on the fact there is no new album yet. Time to build a bridge and get over it I suspect…

After some research I can confirm this picture was taken from the ‘The Pot’ production set. Going over the EXIF data in the jpg file (toolstill.jpg), it seems like they forgot to take away the GPS data from where the picture was snapped (paste this on google maps: N34.280333 W118.431333). That location points to Legacy Effects, a visual fx studio in San Fernando CA. While browsing their webpage I found this http://www.legacyefx.com/features/LegFilm.pdf, scroll to the bottom. The pot is a brilliant song. I would love to see a video for it, but wasn’t it rumoured to be in stop animation? Or perhap its a pun that we would given our current withdrawal of our tool hits that we would cut off our arms to hear a new record….i think its more likely that if its not a joke at our suspence, then something big is comming…

^That is so true. About The Pot, I think it’s because they’ve been talking about it since 10k Days, so it’s easy to assume that that would be what it is.
Not that I have any evidence for my guess, but I thinks it’s a part of the DVD. Tool probably won’t release a straight up live DVD. I would imagine, and they have hinted at it before, that they may make a narrative type of film for whatever visual release they end up doing. My guess would be that it is a part of the film. This is some crazy shit, i just figured out “problem 8”! If you take 10,000(days) , divided by 46 & then divided by 2, and then divide by 5 (studio albums) = 21.7391304! Thats how many days until rivers edge fest, duh

Maybe it is an alternate release, or a visual album of sorts. Theyve had a while to compile footage, plus all that stock footage they have and the dvd could be a puzzle filled with codes, easter eggs and cues within the footage

The Pot and Jambi are my faves of 10,000 days, since there may be a tour on the way, and if they plan on playing the Pot it would be great to have a new video to back it up and add a new twist on the song.

Jeff Friedl was also posting pictures in studio, so Maynard is most likely in on that for the Puscifer rehearsals.
