There seems to be a lot of speculation about whether or not Puscifer could be playing on Soundwave 2013 as well as A Perfect Circle. Many of the APC announcement tweets also seem to include Carina Round and other Puscifer members, which have lead some to believe there may be more to this tour than we think. And Maynard mentioned on a interview with Triple J this afternoon that he was bringing A Perfect Circle with him “Among other things”. You can listen to the interview here.
Personally, I’m not convinced just yet. I could see perhaps Puscifer doing a couple of side shows, but I’m not so sure that Maynard would willingly to play two sets per day on what is a reasonably tightly packed tour. I guess we’ll find out in due time!
Puscifer is Maynard’s baby (how many times do we have to be told). If he wasn’t making wine he would be creating Puscifer. Bearing this in mind I await a nugget. If he announced a Puscifer Soundwave gig I would be amazed and ecstatic, but I do leave a space to accommodate a side show and hopefully it is within taxi distance.
Let me dash you faint hope of an Adelaide Puscifer sideshow right away.

Tool August Newsletter posted at Toolband. Totally going on tour south of the equator somewhere either in the Fall or next year.

I’ve been told we won’t be seeing any more Tool dates until there’s a new album. Not to dispell a South American or Asian tour in the future, but I can’t see it happening until a new album is released.
That said, presuming they’re looking at doing Rock In Rio, or Fuji Rock festival or something like that, promoters often book headline act a year in advance, so it’s possible preliminary talks could be taking place.
Lots of news about things I don’t care about. APC and possibly Puscifer in Australia into March of 2013 (which pretty much guarantees a Spring Q2 2013 Tool album release ain’t gonna happen). Tool maybe touring some place where there are a lot of bugs at some point. Again, don’t care. The Pot DVD in the works. Volto album coming out. Yup, lot’s of news about everything but the new album. Remember at the beginning of the year, when they said good things are coming? 8 months in and not a damn thing happening.

Yeah, me too. I think if writing and recording is going well, then this should have very little effect on the release of the album. Soundwave isn’t until March, that’s over half a year away.

Yea, the Tool camp kind of BS’s about stuff being in the pipeline or things “coming soon” but it’s just to string along fans so we’ll at least maintain some interest in the band. Blair is excellent at doing this, hence why he has had the job for over 10 years now. I’m just really curious as to just what the hell they HAVE actually been doing all this time.
