Perhaps not the new album update all of us are expecting, but Volto! recently fed us some details on their new release, hopefully out there in next couple of months. Over the weekend they posted:
the new album’s vinyl master discs were just cut today @ Bernie Grundman Mastering Studios, so it’s coming down the home stretch…. soon friendsupreme, very soon! ♥
And the over night the back cover of the album was revealed:
The artwork for the album is made up of unused art from a 70s prog rock album, my understanding being it is either Captain Beefheart or Yes. Danny confirmed in a recent Children of Saturn show that it should be released on vinyl (and presumably other formats) so dust off your record players!
Damn…no X-plorato…no Stratus…no Funk 49…no Gillz…I guess if theres no Captain…
🙁
oops…at least we get Gillz! :/
From Volto Facebook page (comment under Monday, August 27 post): “recorded and mixed on tape by Joe Barresi, mastered by Bob Ludwig, vinyl cuts by Bernie Grundman’s. first off is gonna be a 180gram audiophile numbered and signed double album(cover art by the late Rick Griffin and inside art by Adam Jones) which will be available very soon direct from our new worldwide online store. it’s been a long time coming and we sure hope everyone digs it…the whole thing has come out real nice.”
Lol, I guess they were waiting on Adam

There is no way in hell that was going to be on a Yes album. Beefheart makes perfect sense though.
If the vinyl isn’t outrageously expensive, I’ll consider it. Can’t wait to hear it in any format though. Sure wish I could make the next gig… or any.
