I came across an interview with Billy Howerdel on Las Vegas Weekly today where he talks about the coming A Perfect Circle Las Vegas show, as well as the Soundwave and South American shows. He also talks about the probability of a new album:
The last A Perfect Circle album came out in 2004. Are you guys against putting out another one?
No, I’d love to—when the time is right. It would be awesome. I’m trying to write songs with that in mind, but … right now, I’m focusing most of my energy on a new Ashes Divide record, which is under way with 11 songs. Still working on finishing vocals and writing lyrics, and hopefully get that thing mixed in January or February.
Interesting interview, though doesn’t reveal anything especially exciting…
I’m probably in the minority but I kinda think APC has run its course. While the music isn’t better (yet, at least) Puscifer is already better live.
must’ve been a little awkward with maynard on the bed right behind him.
There’s no spinal-spiral tattoo on “her” spine. Could be photoshopped.
You don’t think a new Ashes Divide album is exciting?!
His Ashes Divide project is pretty average. It sounds like APC songs that didn’t make the cut.
Wow!!!
yeah seeing A Perfect Circle (3 times) is an amazing show.
And a new Ashes Divide would be greatta!
The album wasnt supposed to be “better than eMotive”, they are completely different and both stand highly on their own. Duh.
Thanks for the great article.
you can cry all you want about a new Tool album, I dont think we will even see one til 2014, maybe,
and we know that there will be at least two or three new Nine Inch Nail songs by then 🙂
Happy Holidayzzzz and New Yearzz y’all
I think it’s a very thinly veiled money grab, and I agree that APC has run its course. I wouldn’t compare APC and Puscifer because they’re very different styles and much of APC was Billy’s work. I enjoy them, and I really loved seeing their show, but it wasn’t mind blowing in my opinion. Considering they’ve only written By and Down and it’s been such a long while, I don’t think the occasional tour and single is enough to keep them going.
Billy Howerdel doesn’t age
