Maynard posted a picture on Instagram today that looks suspiciously like a ultrasound, suggestion he and his wife are expecting a baby sometime in the next 6 or so months. Congratulations to both of them!

Fuck yeah, this is good news for Tool. Soon Maynard’s wife will be all hormonal and bitchy, which will stress him out, making him irritable and in need of venting his frustrations for the next 9 months. Inevitably this will affect his writing for the new album. I hope it will produce some of those classic cathartic, deep soul-digging melodies and lyrics he’s most known and loved for. I say this only slightly tongue-in-cheek.

Dude is going to be in his 60’s when his kid is in highschool. I knew a girl in highschool whose parents were in their late 60’s, she hated it. Her parents were also super wealthy but that made no difference to her. She would have preferred they were younger rather than wealthy. I guess famous might help the kid? Clint Eastwood had kids late too. Wonder what Devo H. thinks about all this. Hmmm… congrats Maynard! You’re still straight shootin!

Just kidding… I’m aware that we are in a world of infinite possibility. Just saying… I’d never try to have kids at that age because I think it would suck. My father in law had kids in his 50’s and he’s having a hard time keeping up with them. In my experience… none of the experiences that I’ve whitnessed have been particularly awesome for the kids or the parents.
Again, I’m completely aware that it could go differently. Thank you for pointing out the obvious.

Also, lol @ Maynard. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to come to terms with the fact he actually named his child ‘Devo’.
For years and years I was completely sure of myself that Devo was always a pseudonym that Main-Nerd invented to hide his son’s true identity….but nowadays I wonder, if he really just named his kid something that dumb.
It’s been confirmed that Devo is actually his son’s name.
