No clue dude… I think people just get a general sense of deception when TOOL are doing anything active and are talking about “new material” so it’s hard for some people to trust them.
If band members occasionally posted stuff like this then that’s all I’d really need until their next album comes out. Just little bits & pieces every so often would be cool. That 30 seconds was better than most of Blair’s posts & newsletters right?
I like this kind of stuff definitely, especially if we’re getting down to this or Blair… I’d choose this every time. Next piece should be a recording console with the name of the producer they have selected… Botrill…. would be a fantabulous start.

As we’ve watched four of these last eight years just dissipate with mini tour after mini tour and, despite Maynard’s recent comments (“you don’t want to just become a greatest hits version of yourselves”), they have become just that. I read your comment expecting you to just completely self destruct at the end and then you didn’t… good job buddy… good job… We’re all waiting as patiently as we can. I think more than half of us expect this to be the last album and I’ll be looking forward to a box set. Meanwhile, I’m keeping up with my own arts staying as distracted as possible. I don’t see KARNIVOOL releasing anything by next year; at least not a studio album. They put out Asymmetry just last year, and that took them 4 years to release since Sound Awake came out. I could totally see KARNIVOOL open for TOOL, but there won’t be a new album from them for at least a couple years, but one can hope…
I can’t see Karnivool ever supporting Tool. Rumour is there is some bad blood between them.
Wow I hadn’t heard of any bad blood between them. Although we don’t hear much about Karnivool here in the States… I don’t even know anbody that knows who they are other than the friends I’ve shown them to.
As for a new album, yeah I looked up their history as far as album years go and it takes them a while to release albums. I’d still like to see them here in the States though…

I had never heard of them so i you tubed some of their stuff. wow….. its like someone married Disturbed, incubus, and a tool cover band. Even their live show seem cribbed from tool.
