Tool September Newsletter out now!

Blair has posted his September Tool Newsletter, and it’s one huge advertisement of stuff we already know (coded messages excluded!).

It covers:

  • Danny & Puscifer publishing new websites
  • Darklore selling new stuff
  • Volto! playing a gig soon
  • Some Tool tour posters are on sale in the store (some as cheap as $9.99)

He also hints that Puscifer may play some shows. Not sure how serious that is, but expect much celebration among Tool fans if this is true!

Yea so he “hinted” at Puscifer shows but he also “hinted” at Tool shows the exact same way.

Wow, my first post on this great website!
At first I have to apologize for my bad English – Im from Germany.
Ive been reading any little news about Tool for several years now.
Ive seen four men that have created musical magic and that have enhanced my life with
their art.
And now while reading this bullshit from a guy called “Blair” over and over again, bullshit about selling
Ufo-stories and ugly pics of MJK, I have to consider those magic-moments are just OVER.

This basically really hurts my feelings.

Something about “clues and hints” and “tracking” have me intrigued.

Everyone quit ya whining! Tool will release an album when that album is done. I would expect nothing less. I am grateful for the music they’ve already bestowed upon us and that more is planned. Tool is the ultimate in longevity and I’m certainly not tired of the ‘old’ music whatsoever, so I’ll keep listening to that.

Be patient.

yeah $250 was the going price for the signed St. Paul ’10 poster. the others that were on there were:
Albuquerque ’12
Uncasville ’12
and Regina ’10
was hoping for a Reno ’12! I doubt anymore of those were still left, been trying to get my hands on one (not signed) since then.

It disappoints me to get on here after so long and see that still no one even takes a stab at Blair’s messages. Everyone doesn’t understand it right off the bat, so they come to FourthEye and realize that everyone else doesn’t realize what any of it means right off the bat either and they feel better about themselves so they give up. All of you sit around bitching and complaining about Blair. Why? Because you don’t understand him? You’re the ones discussing fucking posters for Christ’s sake, while at the same time if Blair was a normal journalist for… Read more »

I definitely like what you’re saying about the puzzles but it seems that this month’s newsletter didn’t have much in it. Also, the Problem 8 “puzzle” has been hinted at for years but the song still hasn’t materialized. I think that people just give up on trying to solve something if there seems to be no payoff.

So, what’s your take on the newsletter? BTW, the connections you made between the albums (beginning / end) was pretty cool. It’s like it goes from dirty human to spiritual enlightenment… cool.

Yeah… everyone shares the same sentiment of being tired of waiting already. What I wish… is that they wouldn’t release information saying “We’re working on a new album.” until it’s actually studio time. Then it wouldn’t seem so like an excruciatingly long period of time before the damn thing actually releases…

Other than that… I hope all of this time = quality.

Even if “Problem 8” was found, I shit you not it is most likely going to be some unintelligible moans or deep booming sounds, not a full song. Maybe a little drumming here and there… I just picture it being something akin to Mantra or – Ions.

I used to get upset like you and type out 4,000 words about how Blair must be hinting at something somewhere and how the band is doing something so secretive and how these people in these forums are just blind and not the fans I thought they were… then the realization came… Now… I really just don’t fucking care anymore. It drives me bonkers if I think about it too much and honestly… I have a life and don’t really care to spend time on these puzzles that seem to come to no fruition. I mean, whatever happened with the… Read more »

Blair is a dumbass-nobody only existing because he’s friend with some of the Tool members.

And for Tool:
They’re musicians. I dont want to f….. solve a puzzle, I want them to make music.

To each his own. I definitely get frustrated by Tool but I also like how much thought is put into their art. The visceral to spiritual progression on their albums is a cool observation and I’m sure was purposefully done. I actually have more respect for them now 🙂

Saying that, however, I also would like to add that I’m getting more than tired waiting for their next masterpiece. In the meantime I will listen to tons of other great bands.

Blair’s pseudo intellectual/spiritual/mystical spoutings have always been so cringeworthy. I’d be happy for him to stop writing for good.
The only thing anyone wants to know/cares about from Tool is a new album.

I still look closely at all of Blair’s posts. Ever since ToolArmy went dark, I stopped reading into everyones interpretations, so I’m on my own to figure it out. I rarely read the forums here on Fourtheye (no offense to Hellboy, I love this site), so I don’t get to see what people are thinking up.

That being said, I bought the Auckland poster because I loved the fish poster series Adam did, and for $10 is awesome. I’m a happy camper for this newsletter.

whats wrong with talking about posters ? and how long have you been around by chance ? i have been following the toolband/toolarmy sites since both began. i have gotten tired of Blairs nonsense newsletters. There isnt much to understand. For just about two decades they have proven to be nonsense more then anything, Plus not everyone has time or wants that time to sit around and think about his newsletters/posts. if i want to read books on the occult or meditation or whatever ill use my energy for something more worthwhile then those newsletters. If you are into cracking… Read more »

oh, ok. you said its mostly about drugs and interdimensional this and that. Fair enough! I agree with that. i still read what he posts but if it gets too silly/crazy i dont bother with it if you get something out of it then thats good. i just think interest is lost on those and no new album in 8 years doesnt help. people read them still but with filters on! i never bought into the 10,000 days poster riddle stuff. how bout Lacrymology? theirs another thing that had this apparent lost book which no one ever saw. Maybe that… Read more »

I like em both Hellboy… Keeps us on our toes. Blair mentioned that Pat Mastelotto visited the loft during King Crimson’s LA stint, and that the writing and arranging is coming along nicely in the newly soundproofed space. Maybe an apology to your “Fuck this shit” response.

Seems like its time again to sell another set of these Crowley pint glasses……..

adoxnz

Yes but don’t you see? The fact that there are FOUR pint glasses tells you the post is really about the 4 band members. If you look closely, one of the glasses is slightly off the edge of the picture, is likely symbolic that one of the band members is slightly “out of the picture” when it comes to the writing process (lol maynard) The looming figure behind the boxes perhaps represents the producer, though its identity appears uncertain. My finally clue is that Blair says there are ten to be SOLD. We’re getting a ten disc album. You just… Read more »
