Adam posted a shot from (hopefully) the Loft’s whiteboard today with the hashtag #SmokeOnTheHorizon. Will there be fire where there is smoke?
Update: And a follow-up from Maynard:
Adam Jones, Album #5, Instagram, Tool

Thank you, Adam! As a life-long musician with a basic understanding of the dry-erase board and time sigs in general, that looks wickedly awesome, at the very least, in TOOL terms. Can’t wait to hear what it ultimately becomes! We all know what’s in store for us fans will be well worth the wait! Thanks again for sharing!

Nah, it’s just a distant ship.

its better then nothing and looks like progress! good stuff!

Maynard’s response is the best part of this… “@adamjones_tv Prove it.”
Which means he’s waiting for a new TOOL album just like the rest of us…
I’m always happy when Maynard shares the same sentiment as we do.

I read somewhere that MJK thinks that a lot of fans are idiots. Although the hashtag is funny I can see why he thinks that.

Agreed. Why would he bother turning up to listen to them tune their guitars?

What a douche… I’ll bet he’s now blocked by Adam and Pussyfur…
Smoke on the horizon may be smoke up our ass but at least it’s not EBOLA…

Maynard should probably change the way they write after 20 years….clearly the current system has brought them no success, and has given us no great tunes to enjoy.

You’re right Billy… I mean, who are these guys anyways?

I think everyone knows what I’m talking about (Problem 8: The Riemann Hypothesis).
Isn’t there a little something called ‘proofs’ in science, huh?
Our senses are nonencompassing.

I think it’s pretty obvious : “Smoke on the horizon” = they are working on a cover of “Fire Woman” by The Cult.
