Tool October 2014 Newsletter

Blair published the October 2014 Tool newsletter not long ago (after a short delay due to an overly “frightening” one being drafted earlier) in which he discusses Rance Q. Spartley and a cursed signed Tool drumhead. For those of you with little patience for Blair’s work, I urge you to not bother reading it and take your complaints elsewhere. There seems to be little if any Tool news (though Rance is quite often used as a metaphor for Tool touring – something I suspect is unlikely for a while yet).

There was also an interesting picture (below) and allegedly a 99c drumhead for sale (now out of stock!).

SPRING? Or too obvious?

If Maynard is only just hearing some nearly-finished tracks now, Spring seems way too ambitious for an album release. More likely they will start recording in Spring for a Winter 2015 release. But I would be very happy to be proved wrong… Tool usually do when it comes to new album predictions…

Hellboy, do you mean Southern Hemisphere Spring or Northern Hemisphere Spring? Also, what are the chances that they tour some of the new stuff before the album comes out (like, significantly before, not just a few weeks)?

That box has a shadow, correctly cast. No guarantee the box is significant, of course.

If the shirt and box are in fact legit.. then that’s all the evidence I need for now. There has been many *hints* in the past of Problem 8 and Bethlehem abortion clinic. Yet it still remains an open ended mystery that started back to the Ænima days

His shirt also says Bethlahem Abortion Clinic. I’m hoping for a Salival like release this Christmas. They’ve hinted at Problem 8 for too long now.

The first paragraph is certainly about MJK rejoining the other three members to play his part, orange gatorade and all.

Definitely a Video/Salival type release on the horizon. (Problem 8 and mention of a video character coming back to life).

Maybe August 2015 Release? Portland Music Fest. Alternatively, traditional May Release and Sasquatch?

Good times. I expect to see some new Puscifer dates soon.

Also watch the ToolArmy forum? HAHAHAHAH. Ha… ha… Not. Nevermind.

The “cursed drumhead” has the date of 3-27-14, which is the last show they played Phoenix.

I just wanted to thank some of you for bringing Intronaut to my attention a few years ago here in the forums. I saw them last night at DNA Lounge in SF and it was an amazing show. I purchased the Habitual Levitations Vinyl which they all signed. Such a cool group of very talented guys. So anyways… thanks everyone who mentioned them. To make this post relevant to the topic… That’s Maynard’s dad in the picture right? I’m digging the speculation that’s going on here and hope that some of it’s right… another Salival type album would be a… Read more »

The individual in the photograph is neither Michael Loren Keenan nor Duncan Blake. I do not know who it actually is though.

Possible Salival type release filled with demos/jams? I don’t really understand the Riemann hypothesis, but the wiki mentions trival zeroes/non-trivial zeroes. (Non)Trivial zeroes=song parts before they add to the whole. Who knows, though everyone is pretty quick to jump on the side-release bandwagon.
