Tool April 2015 Newsletter released

Blair has released Tool‘s April 2015 Newsletter, and since I’m in a rush to get out the door this morning I haven’t had a chance to read it. At a quick glance though it looks like they played a gig somewhere…

I always prefer Blair’s snarky Newsletters when there’s nothing real to share.

Other than the shout out to fourtheye 🙂 there was nothing worthwhile. Mediocrity has become a norm with toolband.com

Q: “I think it was a few months ago that you and Danny Carey were on Rynne’s radio show, Children of Saturn. Danny mentioned that there was a music ***** in the works for their song ***** and that that was the so called “*********”.

STEEE-RIIIKE!

I think they were throwing a curve ball with that “Opiate” line. It’s a “change up” from a supposed video for “The Pot.” Would make sense with “Jambi” being one their touring staples.

I thought it was pretty good. Potentially referenced the curveball being a jambi video, also hinted at TOOL being available for digital listening (or that it never would be?), and it seems that there is a chance that the winners of the golden ticket may be invited to a backyard bbq jam fest with the band?

In that webcast Danny really did say “we’re gonna release the Opiate video soon” and Blair said “sounds like a curveball to me!”

a lot of that seems more like a joke to me. the video and bbq. just doesnt sound like something real if you ask me. im just waiting till it happens. i sorta enjoy the news and comments people make on it but i cant take it much further. we just gotta be patient and weed out the chafe or however its said without getting too OCD on their weirdness with the news!

*slight correction. i enjoy coming here reading the interpretations more of the newsletters and seeing everyones comments other then reading thru those snooze fests newsletters in their entirety. thats what i meant more. 😉

My thoughts/interpretations/comments: The question about having Tool in the Kentucky prison could be a metaphor for having/not having Tool on music purchasing/streaming services (Spotify, iTunes, etc.). This might be stretching it, but the email about the guy from Norway who got a signed poster in the mail might be Blair’s way of saying that he’ll give the BBQ poster to someone who orders a poster at random? They just put a few more posters in the store. I’ve never heard of the whole dickbutt salival thing. Futurama was cancelled twice, once in 2003, and then again in 2013. Salival was… Read more »

I just love the fact that the guy went to trouble of pulling the song into an audio program to flip the channels when all he had to do was…….put his headphones on the ‘wrong’ way
hahahahaha

Danny was recently in Maine… That’s where they’ve done their mastering in the past… Something is coming soon…

does that mean the same asshole who mastered 10000 days to death (#loudnesswar) will master this salival II, curveball thing or whatever that is?
please….no!

Danny in Maine means hopefully we will get the salival 2 curveball or whatever the hell is coming.

Forgive my ignorance if it has been posted before but when & for what was Danny in Maine? I don’t remember this being mentioned on Toolband but if they are mastering something with the same people who did their last record then this is a good sign. Does anyone remember reading that random bit ages ago about Danny & Justin driving around North Hollywood with either the final draft copy of Lateralus or maybe 10,000 Days and rocking up at some guy’s house? They asked if they could listen to their album on his home stereo etc. That would be… Read more »

Anyone seen this yet? http://punchdrink.com/articles/drinking-with-tool-frontman-and-winemaker-maynard-james-keenan/

It seems that the new album is being targeted for a fall release.

Indeed. The new PUSCIFER album is on track for a fall release. With links like that, you should start a clickbait website.

“The Tool co-founder/singer, frontman for A Perfect Circle and Puscifer (whose new album, he confirms exclusively with PUNCH, is “almost finished” and should be expected ‘hopefully in the fall’)…”

Syntax, brah. PUSCIFER album due in the Fall.

Wow, I just didn’t expect any of the members to be working on other albums while the Tool album was being developed. I guess it’s a lot further off than I expected. Damn.
