June newsletter updated to include “The Deal”?

Yodhehvauheh_ pointed out in the comments section of the page that the 2015 Tool June Newsletter has been updated finally. Part of it we already know, in that Puscifer are playing at the Monster Mash Festival in Arizona. The other part is something a little more cryptic.

From the June Newsletter:

THE DEAL

What should be of interest is the deal… I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

PUSCIFER ADDED TO MONSTER MASH FEST LINEUP

PUSCIFER has been added to the MONSTER MASH FEST LINEUP and is set to perform on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER, 1 on the WEST STAGE.

What is the Deal?” I hear you say? There have been some strong rumours about the place that there would be further Tool shows later this year. I had it suggested to me that LA (most likely the Staples Center) was likely to be one of these dates The Deal could be suggesting that the negotiation behind getting shows set up or almost done and the contracts close to being signed. This being the case I’d expect some kind of announcement in the coming weeks.

Of course it could mean something else…

Is a Tool show at the Staples Center part of The Deal?

Maybe it’s a sign that Blair wants me to go to that Sumac concert.

I can’t go though, Blair. I have to work.

Dammit, it told me I could use the italics tag.

Ah, I see.

It doesn’t work quite the same way as the forum, but I figured it.

This is why I like the preview post function in the forum.

Maybe the deal involves a tour, but since they promised no more touring before the new album gets released they might play one or two new songs in return…..
2 cents

New album artwork guy?
Services such as Spotify?
Collaboration tour? I read that King Crimson are also making new tunes…

My 1,97 cents

It’s a whole host of possibilities. Whatever it is, they seem to be inching closer to something tangible.

The deal: Tool and Puscifer will be playing shows in the same town, albeit different days. A bit of a compromise, allowing both bands to book a short tour in the same season.

Not really big news but, there is a ” tour ” section that has been added to the TB / TA store recently for merch. 😉

just curious. and dont take offense…. you’re a tool fan looking forward to a greatest hits record?? don’t you own them all?

i guess i could see a casual fan pining for such an offering but all of the idiots here are like rush fans when it comes to t00l (thats a diss and a compliment).

I do own all of their albums and I suppose I could make my own ‘Greatest hits’ compilation and design up an album cover in MS Paint & burn it to a cd.
I think I would honestly prefer it if the band (or their management) chose the tracklist and released it.
A new album could be good but at the end of the day, it’s a bunch of songs I’ve never heard before.

Hoping it’s like Puzzle’s comment, a deal with Spotify, iTunes, that new Jay Zzzzz flop, and the like. Maybe a Salival II ready for mass public consumption. Jesus knows they won’t sell nearly as many physical copies as in the last, interwebs are the norm. Where does one even buy new CDs anymore?

If there are rumored live dates, I really wouldn’t be surprised if this is a cryptic way to say Sumac is opening up for them as UndKeineEier may have been eluding too.

Someone on the fourtheye facebook mentioned the word “deal” as a possible baseball term. Doing very minimal research i found “deal” to reference, in baseball, as a term for the release of a pitchers throw. It also refers to “a trade” of players.
Two ideas pop up…
The “deal” is refering to the mysterious “curveball” —–or—— we may possibly be looking at a lineup change, a “trade” or a “deal”. This is highly unlikely to me, but what if TOOLs new direction is a CHANGE UP of members, specifically JUSTIN CHANCELLOR.

You could disprove me with the interview with DC stating that justin has been prolific on the new material i know..

If Daryl Dixon dies then I’m done watching the series… If Justin Chancellor is being replaced then I stop listening to this band immediately.

Luckily… Justin has been said to be a bad ass in the writing process which makes me very very very happy because he’s one of the most creative elements in the band and I’ll be happy to see how the rhythm section turns out in addition to Justin’s beautiful and thoughtfully placed leads.
