Hilarious. To be fair, the leaked audio of him talking about his technique was really enthusiastic. But that was just one “VIP” event.
The lack of communication is not a result of mystery or doing things their way. It means things aren’t going well.
When you’re in a bad relationship of any sort, communication starts to trickle to very little and you hide away like a hermit.
What would be some good questions for Adam or other band members that might be at the Q&A?
Excluding anything hostile or negative about the new album etc.
My guess is they’ll get to recording sometime next year and release date will be in 2018.
Still far to early to rule a line through 2017.
Yeah agreed. In the last year or so May 2017 was floating around as a potential release date. Summer 2017 could be realistic.
On Reddit, there was so much bollocks from fans suggesting that they would release it along with a certain ‘special’ tool related date or in line with the release dates of the other albums. Rubbish.
On a side note. 10% of me thinks they could just drop it out of blue.

In the spirit of over analysing, I thought one of Justin’s more interesting comments was when he compared being in a band, and not really being into it to being a good soccer team.
They need a new coach to kick them into gear!
If he was using a true metaphor (probably not), then the band has finished “adding their ingredients” and the album is now out of their hands, being “cooked in the oven”, so to speak.
I totally agree with your interpretation and analysis. Saying it’s “in the oven” suggests all the pieces have been put together and they’re just waiting for something else at this point. Whatever that might be.
I assume a more accurate description would be that they’re still experimenting with the recipe, trying to get it just right, and that there are a few additional ingredients to add (Maynard’s vocals), and then the oven comes into play.
It’s interesting to see how sensitive he reacts to the question. Sure, I guess people confront him with the topic 24/7, but nonetheless.
If something spectacular would happen anytime soon, I guess he’d be a bit more open and enthusiastic. But who knows….they’re pros.

I don’t think he was particularly sensitive at all, in fact I took his reaction more to be joking around.
I too thought that he was a bit sensitive about it. Considering nobody ever really tries to talk to anybody but Adam and Maynard about anything… I figured that Justin would be a little less brash… about it. Might be too strong of descriptive words on my part. In no way did I think he was being a jerk about it but I also don’t think that he was jokingly saying “Don’t ask me that!” repeatedly. He is a cool dude. Too bad his band can’t get over this hump. Hope he is doing shit on the side to pass the time. Cause riffing off drop d all day can’t be creativity satisfying.
