Fourtheye Readers Poll: Best Albums of 2016

Time has come for our annual Fourtheye readers poll to determine the best albums of 2016.  The same rules as the last few years apply:

  • You can vote for up to 10 albums.  Feel free to vote for less than 10
  • Each vote is worth one point.  The order you enter the albums has no relevance
  • You can only vote for an album once
  • The album must have been released in 2016
  • It must be a studio album – re-issues, live albums, best of collections and such are ineligible.  EPs are ok though!

The poll will close on New Years Eve, with the final results available not long after.  Feel free to post your lists below, or come discuss it in the forum.  I know I personally get a lot out of reading peoples lists, and typically go and listen to many of your non-nu-metal related suggestions.

Hey is there a link to the form we need to fill out for this? I researched albums that came out this year because I think I missed quite a big chunk of what was going on due to a tragedy in the family. I’m playing catch up today on the list and listening to about 20 that I selected.

No particular order for me yet although I think Moderat and TYCHO will be at the top for me. DIIV – IS THE IS ARE * Saw this band open for ‘How to Destroy Angels’ back in 2013. I dig the sound it almost feels nostalgic to my childhood and enjoying shoegaze as well as new wave undertones from the 80’s. This album was just as good as their first and still felt familliar. MODERAT – III * Caught on to this band a few years ago and really enjoyed them. Was looking for something fresh a few months ago… Read more »

Neurosis, Radiohead and Car Bomb. Cant think of any others. Let down by Metallica, Dillinger and Meshuggah…

Only 2 albums I felt worthy of spending money on in 2016 were the Ghost EP and the new Metallica.
