Danny Carey appeared at NAMM just recently, and to Tool fan Dirk Doucette mentioned that in regards to the new Tool album “it’s going to be out mid-April. That’s the plan anyway“.
Now Danny is notorious for being optimistic with album release dates, so take this news with a dose of skepticism, but I believe this time around we’re very much on the home stretch, and mid-April – perhaps the 12th or the 26th could be a thing.

The 19th is Good Friday, so I’d expect the record company would prefer avoid that date.

yes! the final stretch is def here. april, may. i say May at the latest. it reminds me of when Lateralus came out. same time and a fall tour for NA is most likely at this point just like it was in 2001.
as long as this album is better then 10k, thats all i really hope for.

MJK turns 55 on Wednesday, April 17 so a new album on FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2019, would be kinda nice 🙂

ya exactly. both times i saw apc when the pigmys opened for them,danny was hanging out afterwards talking to everyone. mike savage had a lot of cool stories to tell to.
at one point too many people were around danny and he looks off into the distance a bit and goes ‘theres maynard!!!” and everyone turned there heads! he started laughing and said he does that when things get a bit much sometimes. haha. he still hung around though, hes alright!
It’s been said a million times already that Danny hasn’t been the most reliable person over the years. But I think this time around we can take his word on it. I say this because we now have pretty strong confirmation that the album is finished or is on the final steps to completion. The audio really sucks on the clips I saw, but apparently Danny mentions that he used 602s on his toms for the new album and so this explains that the guy was referring to the album. Didn’t notice that before.
He says 602s are for the hi-hats but it doesn’t matter. I didn’t catch it either, but he does seem to say right after the guy asks about the 602s that he used them on the new album. He sort of mumbles it really quick and that’s when the guy annoyingly interrupts Danny asking if there is any news it about it. But you can hear him say he used the 602s on the new album. These interactions are so cringey and him announcing “there you have it, new tool news” immediately afterwards makes it worse.
