While we immerse ourselves in Tool news this week, some further details have emerged that seemingly confirm the rumour that Fear Inoculum will have some form of LED screen. Port of Sound Records in California have listed the album with the following details:

Sounds quite intriguing. It’s no longer available, though unknown if it has sold out, or just removed from sale. While I am unable to confirm if the package details are correct, this sounds reasonably authentic to me. Seemingly we will find out in the next day, so keep your eyes peeled!
If its legit, then it’s going to be around the $60 over here. Still not bad considering the package.

Wow, with a speaker..? Seems like it must be a crappy speaker at that price which sounds very un-Tool.

I’m guessing the music that it plays must be some kind of background sound effect, something drony or ambient.
I suspect the speaker is token at best. Perhaps some kind of accompaniment
Wasn’t there a report that the album’s actually 85 minutes? If so, this doesn’t seem very legit.
I assume the CD contains the actual album and the download card has some bonuses.
The CD has 79 min of music while the d/l contains 89 min. Extra song or a typo? Or perhaps BS?
possibly BS, possibly the new opiate recording?
It’s possible that it’s the additional music/sounds that are going to be played through the built in speaker.
The OGT in me hates that the download has more content.
No reason they can’t release it on a 90 minute cassette though

30 page book … about the same as TTDays. It would be dope if the download card was all ADDITIONAL content. Hell I’d listen to Danny playing his Synth and Devo gettin down on the Cello for 90 min.

Considering Adam’s interest in cutting edge digital art, it’s a possibility. You could have some fold-able sides on top, thus the “Soft Pack” idea?
See my post below I said this awhile back based on this tech that I saw somewhere beforehand. That would be cool though it sounds like just an LED screen of some sort.
Remember I said they were live filming the descending and invincible sets to put the videos on the packaging. I predicted hologram not LED screen but still a close possibility. Or even if they live streamed some shows to it? Not sure what tech that would take.

For those of us in Aus, I just to my local JB HI-Fi and they told me they have no information whatsoever on pre-orders and they can’t take any as they don’t even have a stock code. They also said it probably wont be until closer to the release date.

Good to see Amazon have this on sale. I think that this edition will be easy enough to get, so probably no need to rush into it.
