Adam posted a pic to Instagram earlier today that I didn’t think much of, but it turns out it is some kind of baby scan. Looks like Adam & Korin are expecting a baby on the 25th of December. Jesus Christ!

Congratulations to both Adam & Korin.

Matt emailed me a little while ago to advise me that Amazon have 30 second samples up for each track off the coming Pusicfer remix album All Re-mixed Up. Some of them sound pretty interesting…

Danny’s band Volto! will be playing the recently announced YEStival in Camden, New Jersey on August 3rd:
Grammy-winning rock band YES is excited to announce an addition to their first-ever festival – YEStival, a day-into-night musical adventure in full quadraphonic sound – set for Saturday, August 3rd at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ.
VOLTO!, a new band featuring TOOL drummer Danny Carey, has just been confirmed as a performer along with the previously announced artists including THE MUSICAL BOX, RENAISSANCE FEATURING ANNE HASLAM, and CARL PALMER’S ELP LEGACY.
Volto! features Danny Carey from Tool, guitarist John Ziegler (PYGMY LOVE CIRCUS) and bass player Lance Morrison (DON HENLEY). Carey says, “To say that I am excited to play the Yestival would be an understatement. I have been listening to Yes for over 40 years now so this will literally be a dream come true.” Volto!’s debut album Incitare will be released July 23rd.
I expect this gig is a one off, and not the sign of a larger tour, but we’ll wait and see…
Update: Actually, there may well be a decent Volto! tour after all…

In one of the more bizarre things I’ve seen recently, it appears Danny will be lending his voice to the coming animated comedy Free Birds:
(Beverly Hills, Calif.) June 5, 2013 – Relativity and Reel FX announced today that they have cast Hispanic radio personality Eddie ‘Piolin’ Sotelo (Ice Age: Continental Drift), drummer for the world-renowned rock band Tool Danny Carey and Australian actor Josh Lawson (The Campaign) as the newest voice over talent in their upcoming animated comedy Free Birds, helmed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears A Who!). The film is jointly produced and financed by Relativity and Reel FX and is set for wide theatrical release in 2D and 3D on November 1, 2013.
Here’s the full press release.
Not sure what part Danny will play in the movie, but his voice is not really one that springs to mind when I hear voice actor…

Maynard has announced that there will be a Puscifer remix album All Re-Mixed Up out in August this year, which will contain tracks from the Conditions of My Parole album worked over by a bunch of his buddies:
All Re-Mixed Up is the continuation of the Puscifer tradition to release alternate versions, reworks, and remixes of what we consider initial thoughts. For instance, Carina Round was nervous about how to approach her version of ‘Telling Ghosts.’ Mat Mitchell put her at ease by asking her to think of it as a song half written, advising her to ‘now write the other half.’ It’s extremely liberating in the digital age to approach composing and creating in this manner. Infinite paths to explore, reinterpret, and re-present.
Here’s the track list:
It contains the usual selection of Puscifer buddies, but it’s interesting to see Sir Mix-A-Lot lending his talents to the album. Album will be out August 27 at the usual outlets.

Blair posted the May Tool Newsletter yesterday, and for those keeping score it doesn’t really contain a whole load of Tool information. It does however contain a biography of Danny’s band Volto! who, in case you’ve been totally ignoring my last couple of posts, you’d know are releasing a new album Incitare in July. Not mentioned in the email is that you can head over to the Volto! website, sign up for their email and get a free copy of the track Grip It.

In a followup post from the last one, Volto! have revealed the cover art for their debut album Incitare via Facebook, and without further ado:

The comments with that image note that it’s the version from the CD and is Silver – I’m guessing this implies there may be other colours? The artwork is by 60s pysch artist Rick Griffin and who’s worked with the Grateful Dead and other artists in that era. I’ve been lead to believe the artwork for Volto! is some that was leftover from a Beefheart or Yes release.
They also note that it will be released worldwide on the 23rd of July via Fantasy/Concord Music Group via “audiophile, vinyl, cd, lossless, mp3, amazon, itunes, etc…”
John Z from Volto! has given us an update on the coming album via Facebook, posting the back cover of an advance CD, as well as hinting at the date 23rd of July. It’s probably a safe assumption that the date mentioned is the release date for their new album, which according to the cover will be distributed by the Concord Music Group:

It’s also been revealed that Maynard‘s Caduceus winery is contributing to a combined wine called Kindred. From the article:
It was wine used as conversation starter. Four Arizona winemakers figured they could use the collaboration as an excuse to get together and talk regularly.
The resulting wine, Kindred, might also spark conversation among Arizona oenophiles.
Kindred is a project of winemakers from Arizona Stronghold Vineyards, Dos Cabezas WineWorks, Caduceus Cellars and Callaghan Vineyards. Each winery donated a barrel of wine to the project, the contents of which were poured into a tank.
And:
Keenan embraced the idea, not only to work with other winemakers, but also to show the buying public that the region had matured.
“It drives home the idea … that the state is valid when you see the winemakers kind of standing together,” Keenan said. “Up until now, it’s a new region, so everybody’s been fighting for their space on the playground a little bit. Once we get over those growing pains a bit, we can show that it’s better if we’re marching forward, arms locked.”
Sounds interesting.
Danny was born waaaaaay back on May 10, 1961 (at least according to Wikipedia) and today, being the 52nd anniversary of his entry to this world, it is customary, at least on Fourtheye, to post a video of his finest work. Today’s video, is a version of Jambi from last weeks show in Adelaide. It features some nice work from Danny and his machinery. Those still waiting to see Tool in Japan may want to skip the video in order to avoid spoilers – you’ve been warned!
Update: The Adelaide Entertainment Centre are reporting on Facebook that they’ve been given the all clear for the show, so looks like it’s all good for tonight!
Update 2: Looks like Maynard has confirmed also:
Last nite only 1st gear outta 5. 2day we’re runnin about 4th. Fuck it. Lets do this. If ya can’t find em, grind em

Well, quite a surreal night tonight. One minute I’m sitting in the pub enjoying some of Maynard’s finest work at the Sip & Listen wine tasting event, the next everyone in the room gets an SMS at the same time saying the Tool show had been postponed until tomorrow. The mood in the room sobered up pretty quickly! Official word from Frontier is:
URGENT: ADELAIDE TOOL CONCERT POSTPONED FROM TONIGHT TO TOMORROW NIGHT WED 1 MAY
The Frontier Touring Company regret to advise that we have just been notified that Tool’s Adelaide’s performance scheduled for this evening has been postponed to tomorrow, Wednesday 1 May.
Maynard James Keenan has been advised by doctors against performing this evening.
Tonight’s concert will be rescheduled to tomorrow night – Wednesday 1 May. All tickets remain valid and as allocated and do not need to be exchanged.
If a patron is unable to attend tomorrow night, they are advised to seek a refund immediately from their original point of purchase. Please seek a refund by Monday 6 May.
Meanwhile Maynard has the following to say in Twitter:
Effing throat won’t go. Adelaide show is postponed until Mañana, May 1st. Sorry
I feel bad for the several Tool fans I spoke to who had flights back home to Perth and other locations in the morning. Get well soon Maynard!
