Tool Newsletter, Wine Signings

The Augustember edition of the Tool newsletter is now out on Toolband/Army, and as promised it largely talks about Danny & Blair’s recent trip to Maynard’s Vineyard. A somewhat interesting read but don’t expect much Tool insight.

There’s also some more information regarding Maynard’s upcoming Wine Signing Sessions at Whole Foods Markets about the place:

“Vineyard owners Maynard James Keenan and Eric Glomski kick off signings of 2007 Arizona Stronghold “Tazi,” “Mangus,” and “Nachise” beginning Sept. 16 in Pasadena.”

About Arizona Stronghold Vineyards

“ASV lies at the eastern edge of Sulfur Springs Valley, in Cochise County (alongside the Wilcox Playa) in a small, unincorporated area known as the Kansas Settlement. The vineyard site is 80 acres with 66 acres currently under vine. Co-owned by Eric Glomski (Page Springs Cellars) and Maynard James Keenan (Caduceus Cellars/Merkin Vineyards), ASV’s mission is to present affordable top quality Arizona wine made by passionate Arizona based winemakers. Keenan says of the vineyard, “One of our many goals here in Arizona is to establish a cornerstone around which locally owned and operated, sustainable and organic industries can thrive.”

Puscifer Store Opening Soon

According to a new paste on the Puscifer Myspace page, a physical Puscifer Store will be opening soon in Jerome, Arizona:

Hopefully by Oct 1st, we’ll be able to say it’s official, THE 1ST EVER Puscifer store will be opening. Ground Zero is Jerome, Arizona. It’s a small space above Jerome Tattoo, and across from Puffin Stuff in the Verde Apartment Complex. We’re still in the painting and renovation stage. As always things take a little longer and cost twice what you might expect, but we’re making headway.

He also mentions that there’s a Mamma Sed video on it’s way.  No word on whether it’s another Meats Meier effort.

Guitar Hero Pics, Collide

I’ve been away in Perth this week, so have been a bit slow with the news.

A whole stack of readers wrote to me to tell me that there are a couple of official Guitar Hero pictures now available featuring the Tool artwork.  Previously leaked artwork can be found here.

Also in the news is that Danny features on the new Collide album Two Headed Monster.  Autographed posters (not by Danny though) are available for the first 200 pre-orders here.

Guitar Hero 4 Confirmed

It’s been confirmed in many places, including Toolband that Tool will be featuring in the next edition of Guitar Hero:

“Hugely popular alternative metal band Tool, known for their epic, intense musical arrangements and killer visual arts, will also soon be known for their contribution to the upcoming Guitar Hero® World Tour. Guitar Hero fans from all over the world will be able to rock out to “Parabola” and Grammy-award winning “Schism” from Tool’s critically-acclaimed 2001 album Lateralus in addition to “Vicarious” from their 2006 Grammy-award winning album 10,000 Days. The game will also feature an all-new venue designed in collaboration with the band and highlighting the art style that has become a staple in their music videos, live shows and album artwork.”

Guitar Hero: World Tour will be available on the 12th of November in Australia, and can be purchased in the following packages:

The Super Bundle (game, drums, guitar and mic) will retail for $329 AUD on PS3 and Xbox 360, $319 AUD on Wii and $299 AUD on PS2. The Guitar Bundle (game and guitar) will retail for $169 AUD on PS3 and Xbox 360, $159 AUD on Wii and $149 AUD on PS2. The game by itself will retail for $89 AUD on PS3 and Xbox 360, $79 AUD on Wii and $69 AUD on PS2.

Thanks to Chris, Jon, G, Tim, Inbred Love Child and Travis for the tips.

Snippets

A couple of things have passed my desk today.

Firstly there are a couple of new articles up on Toolband, on talking about Blair and Danny‘s trip to Maynard‘s vineyard.  Apparently this will be the covered in more detail in the next newsletter.  Blair also tells the tale of Danny losing $400 in a ATM recently after being asked for an autograph.  Oh the stories we hear when there is no real Tool news!

Secondly SOTRAB tells me that Danny‘s website will be updated soon, and mentions that “it is all in 3d and is absolutely amazing…. the fans are going to love it!”.  No idea this will happen but apparently soon….

Finally a new Notes from the Crew post on Toolarmy has been made, this time referring to work being done, snow thawing in May in Vermont and other stuff such as “Junior and I did a lot of hard, brutal work this summer for a band that for matters related to confidentiality contracts will go un-named at this time.”  What this all means I don’t know, but some people have been speculating that some kind of Tool video is being made, possibly for Rosetta Stoned. All will be revealed in time I guess…
