CoSM Benfit in Los Angeles

According to Toolband/Army:

There will be a benefit party for ALEX GREY’s CHAPEL OF SACRED MIRRORS (CoSM) at CRASH MANSION in Los Angeles on FRIDAY, JANUARY 18. The party will include LIVE PAINTING by Alex and Allyson Grey, a screening of TOOL‘s “Vicarious” video (as well as the ‘making of’ documentary), future CoSM news, psychedelic audiovisuals and more. Crash Mansion is located at 1024 S. Grand Ave, L.A., CA., and additional info is available at the CoSM website This is a 21 or older event.

The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors is currently raising funds to help it relocate the current gallery in New York to a better location.  If you like his art and live in LA then check it out.

Volto! NAMM party

According to a recent post on Toolband/Army Volto! will be hosting a NAMM party at the Knitting Factory on Thursday the 17th of January.  Buy you’re tickets in advance since Volto! usually sells out.

For those that don’t know, NAMM is the National Association of Music Merchants conference, and usually frequented by most major musical instrument companies and their endorsees.  Expect to see a whole range of new instruments displayed, as well as signing sessions with famous users.  Danny has appeared there in the past, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he’ll be there this year too.

Puscifer Update

According to a recent post on Maynard‘s Myspace site, the Queen B DVD will be available on Tuesday, and is a limited edition so don’t delay in ordering it (presumably from the Puscifer website?).  No word as to what’s on the DVD apart from the Queen B video, but it’s safe to say there’s probably no live Tool tracks.  Meats Meier is continuing work on the Dozo video, and according to the post is coming along well.  Also mentioned is that Lustmord is working on some Dub remixes that will probably be released on Vinyl and/or on iTunes.  Finally there are a couple more unreleased tracks being completed, and these are expected to appear on the V is for Vagina vinyl release.

A Perfect Circle not over?

Henry emailed me today with a quote from a recent issue of Revolver, where Maynard gives his thoughts on working with Billy Howerdel, as well as some kind of idea when a reunion may be possible:

The real problem with running Tool and A Perfect Circle at the same time was they both operate the same way. They’re both live touring bands with a label, still working under the old contract mentality. So I thought it was time to let A Perfect Circle to go for now and let Billy explore himself. It’s tough for a guy who went from being a guitar tech [for Tool] to being in a band with pretentious, famous singer and having to live in that shadow. It was important for Billy to go and do his own thing and really explore his own sound and let people hear what he has to say and how he would do it on his own, and then we’ll get back and do some A Perfect Circle stuff.

Fourtheye Survey

Happy New Year everyone!

The 2007 Fourtheye Survey I promised is now up. It should take you around 5 minutes and asks a range of questions. The survey covers a range of areas, from Tool, Fourtheye, as well as some of you own tastes and habits.

No information that can be used to identify you is kept, nor will the results be shared with any kind of corporate scumbags unless the cheque has at least 6 zeros to the left of the decimal point.

The Survey will close in about 2 weeks (I’ll give you some warning) and then shortly after that I’ll begin posting some of the more interesting results.  If you have any other questions of feedback on the survey, let me know…

December Newsletter

Blair‘s December newsletter is up, and it’s quite possibly the most cryptic one yet. I can’t really make much sense of it, though it does suggest that something may be going on sale on the 17th of January, possibly a live DVD, though I’d say that’s somewhat unlikely. Could also be that there’s another tour happening, going on sale on that date, but I’ve heard no substantial rumours to confirm anything at this stage. Take a look for yourself…

Feel free to speculate on how many drugs Blair took this Xmas!

Coming Soon: Fourtheye Survey

I’ve been working on a Fourtheye survey recently, one that will ask many questions regarding Tool, Tool-related acts, Fourtheye as well as readers tastes and habits.  I plan on this being a yearly survey, but as I work on the first one I wonder if any of you have any particular questions you’d like to see asked in it?
