It’s up now. It doesn’t contain much new Tool information to the untrained eye (ie. mine). It does dispell a few myths regarding the recent TA Chat.

For those of you who complain that Blair’s newsletters never contain any useful information, then you won’t be swayed by this latest one at all. Personally I like them, so Blair, just in case you’re reading, keep up the good work.

And Danny, if you’re reading, you look really goofy in those overalls. Was the party a dress up or something? What were you listening to on the iPod by the way?

It also mentions that Chet Zar has a new show coming up at the Copronason Gallery in November. If you’re in LA, then I’d recommend you check it out!

Finally, the newsletter mentions that “Halloween Barbie says hopefully there will be something in the pumpkin patch soon” Stay tuned I suppose!

Yaz from Toolarmy reports that there is a new selection of Caps, Beanies and T-Shirts on the Tool website. Highlights include a cool looking Grey Beanie, and this new Undertow T-Shirt. Make sure you don’t spend all your money before the second batch of Signed Vinyl arrives.

Also, in a private email to a Toolnavy member, Blair has said that the October newsletter will hold some new information regarding the new CD, alluding to the fact that the name of it may be revealed. Will this really happen? Probably not, but at least it gives us something to look forward to in the next few days.

Blair finally got around to dispelling a few myths and rumours about the place last night on Toolband/Army. It would appear that:

  • There definitely will be more Signed Vinyl, no clues on when though, or how many, but you’d have to think it would happen sometime in the next few weeks.
  • There is a new Gold Edition Coleman available from the Coleman Website. Limited edition so get your hands on one now. If only I hadn’t thrown my money at the Signed Vinyl…..
  • The chat wasn’t a hoax, and that photographic evidence will be photoshopped and presented in the next newsletter.

Jelvins, Melvins, Tomahawk and TMOC

Some non-Tool news for a change.

There’s a relatively interesting, if a little short interview with Jello Biafra here, where he talks about his involvement with the Melvins. It boes on to mention that Adam Jones plays on half of the tracks on the new CD Sieg Howdy!

Ipecac.com are reporting that the Melvins are releasing a ‘new’ version of Houdini in the near future. Also, Peeping Tom for mid-2006.

Last but not least, according to The Mark of Cain’s website they are touring around Australia in January 2006 with John Stanier. For all you Tomahawk fans, and I know there’s plenty out there (including Tool) they also revealed that Tomahawk will be recording in December.

Vinyl Gone (again), Conspiracies

I checked Toolarmy this morning, and it looks like the Signed Vinyl is gone, presumably sold out. Too bad if you missed out, I’ll sell you mine for $1,000,000 ;)

Word is that no more than 100 were made available.

Other rumours are abounding that last nights chat was a vast conspiracy engineered by the Admins at TA. Based on a script obtained from some sort of admin only chat room. I personally don’t see much to support these claims, unless people really believe that each band member at the chat had their own PC, and therefore nickname changing wasn’t required. I also don’t see what would be gained by doing that either, but anyway, some people have plenty of time on their hands for these things.

In other news, Maynard shot JFK….

The chat happened, sort of. I learnt the following:

  • 250 in chat room is a bad idea.
  • Adam said Pre-production on the artwork for the New CD is happening now.
  • A tour with Isis is a distinct possibility.
  • Alex Grey will be involved on the new CD.
  • Danny says it’s not a double ablum, and that the DVD will be out soon, with the implication it will be out before the CD.
  • Signed Lateralus Vinyl will soon be replacing the flaming wreckage that is my wallet/credit card.
  • Hi to Nemesis, Guitaryoni, Eclipse and anyone else that said Hi that I’ve forgotten!

Crowleymas

Just a final couple of things on the Toolarmy Crowleymas chat.

It will start at 9pm PST (2pm AEST 13th Oct.) and the chat rooms should be back up sometime before then, though as I write this I seemed to be able to login, but not able to do anything.
