Volto

Volto – features Danny

Team Puscifer, Volto, Newsletter

A couple of things today.  Firstly those hot spunks at the Tool Hotline tell me that there’s a Puscifer Street Team which you can join at www.teampuscifer.com.  Anyone can join, and who knows what you might get out of it (apart from lots of spam).  Warning: I have no idea if this site is really owned by Maynard or just some prankster, so don’t go putting your work email into it…..

Blair posts on Toolband/Army that Volto will possibly be playing at the Baked Potato on August 2nd.  If it goes ahead, Danny should be there as the US tour would have finished.

Finally the May Newsletter has been released, and it seems to be a rather lengthly diary of Blair and co’s recent trip to Mexico.  I’ll read it properly when I have a spare 4 hours.

Signed Vinyl, Photos, Volto!, Isis

Greasy on Toolarmy today pointed out to us that there’s some more Signed Lateralus Vinyl on Ebay at the moment.  Bidding on this one starts at $300, and as I write this there have been no bids.  Here’s the link.

The Tool Hotline woke up from their deep slumber to post a couple of things.  Firstly there’s this gallery of photos from a recent show in France. Secondly they mention that Volto! are playing a couple of shows, on on December 29 at the Baked Potato, and the other at the Knitting Factory on January 13.  Check out the hotline since there’s a couple of photo’s of the guys linked there.

Finally, Blair on Toolband/Army tells us that Aaron Harris from Isis will be featured in the January 2007 issue of DRUM! magazine.  Blair hints that he may be talking about the Mandala drums.

VOLTO!

It would seem that VOLTO! as going to play a show while Danny passes time between tours, this time at the Baked Potato on the 20th of July.  For advanced tickets call 818-980-1615, and from what I understand, due to the size of the venue, they do sell out.

Volto! and JZ

Blair tells us (I think) that there’s a couple of good shows coming up:

Firstly on the 3rd of July, JZ and his Hubcap Corral will be playing at the Baked Potato.  Apparently there’ll be a BBQ out the back, and Tool fans are invited.  Who knows who will show up.

Then, on the 20th of July, Volto! will be playing also at the Baked Potato.  No word on whether or not Danny will be playing, though after looking at the tour dates, there’s no reason he wouldn’t be.

Korean Show, Volto

Blair makes a couple of posts on Toolband/Army to day, the first of which reveals that Tool will be playing at the Olympic Main Stadium in Seoul, Korea on the 15th of August.

He also mentions that Danny will be playing with Volto on July the 20th at the Baked Potato in LA.

Alex Grey Comments, Butcher/Volto/Tool Live

In the recent CoSM Newsletter, it briefly talks about the 10,000 Days artwork. Nothing particularly new though:

Many fans have inquired regarding the album art TOOL has released on Amazon for pre-sale of the album. The cover is an adaptation of Alex Grey’s painting, Net of Being.

Blair on Toolband/Army posts today that Butcher played recently with some disturbing new artwork. He also mentions that Volto are playing in the near future, and that you should catch them now, as they may not be playing again for a while. They’re playing the Knitting Factory on March the 31st and then the La Ve Lee in April sometime. Danny will be too cought up in the machine called Tool to play more shows, so if you want to see them, see them now!

Speaking of Tool, they’re apparently getting ready for Coachella on April 30, and according to Blair “any other shows the might decide to do”…..

Volto Live!

Volto are playing in LA once again, as usual at the Baked Potato(!) this Thursday the 9th of February. You know the drill, if you’re there, check them out, if you’re in the remaining 99.9 percent of the population, don’t go…..

It would be nice if for once someone would give a report of what the shows are actually like, maybe even some pics or sounds.

Volto @ The Knitting Factory

Blair on Toolband/Army reports that Volto are playing at the Knitting Factory in LA on Friday the 20th of January.  Tickets can be purchased here.  In case you don’t know, Danny drums for Volto

Vinyl Update, Volto

Blair has posted some final info the on Vinyl release. It will be Friday afternoon US/Arizona? time. If you need a little help translating times to your timezoe, use this little tool. I would imagine the vagueness around the time of release is deliberate in order to ‘randomise’ the process a little more. For those Australians out there, the approximate time will be around 8am Saturday morning, so no partying this Friday night!

In further posts made by Blair, he also suggests that there are around 200 copies of the vinyl around the place, 93 of which were sold during the chat. This leaves around 100 left, so for those of you in the hunt, be prepared to not get a copy. Once again, to all you readers looking for a copy, good luck!

Finally Volto are playing at the Baked Potato on Thursday the 8th of December. If you’re going, make a booking, since it’s only a small venue.

Slow News Week

Not much exciting happening in the world of Tool this week. Here’s a couple of items posted on Toolarmy/Band in the last week:

  • Volto are playing at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood on the 10th of November.
  • Aloke Dutta is accepting new students for Tabla lessons. These lessons are held in LA and are one-on-one lessions. Contact him at alokedutta@alokedutta.com for more information.

If you’re still bored, check out this picture of my new puppy Harley!
