Tool feature in the next poll, which happens to be Rolling Stone’s readers Top 10 Metal Bands of All Time.  While I’m not sure Tool are a metal band strictly speaking, they managed to take the 10th position:

Toad seems to feature some vocals by Justin, which is a pleasant surprise.  According to Twitter the M.T.Void album is expected to be released before the end of the year.

Just a gentle reminder that Justin will be the special guest on Rynne’s Children of Saturn radio show today, due to start in about 90 minutes.  Who knows what will happen!  More details can be found here.

As the evening progressed, the party moved down to the lower house (so that even more of Danny’s neighours could be disturbed).  There, in a basement music room filled with analog synths and vintage guitars, those not to bloated began to have a go at the instruments.  After the jamming was over there were reports from those listening to riffs by Adam and Justin (with Danny on drums) that, though unfamiliar, sounded very Toolish.  Having slipped out around 10:30 (with smike in my eyes and visions of 150 mg of Zantac), I didn’t hear these myself, so we’ll just have to take their word of this possible sneak preview of things to come.  Personally, I’ll be it was just a decoy…

Chatting with Rosie on triple j, band mates Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor were typically cagey when it came to Tool’s first planned release in 5 years.

Even joking that the follow up album to 2006′s 10,000 days should be called “50,000 days”.

However, Carey did admit that while they hope to have the record out by the end of the year, they are still yet to decide on a name.

“That’s usually the last thing that happens and we argue about that while we’re making the final master of the record. We don’t even have names for the songs until then.”
