Re: Animals as Leaders

Mog is right. Listening to this new album on a good set of headphones is totally worth it, and you really hear things you wouldn't notice on average headphones. And really, this album is some next-level shit. Like this is the kind of music humankind would want to send out to aliens in outer space to...

Re: Animals as Leaders

hehe, i've been good man. I am really liking the direction the band took with this album. Some of the songs are just mind-blowingly innovative. I mean the song physical education is groovier than the 60's bro. And that plucking in Woven Web. Sweet Jesus. What are your guys' favorite 3 songs off the ...

Tesseract

Surprised when I searched and found no Tesseract thread. These guys are like the face of modern day Djent. I know a lot of people dont really like Ashe's vocals, compared to Dan's (no screams on altered state), but I personally think the clean vocals make the songs sound just fine. That being said, ...

Re: Animals as Leaders

^ Yup. I hate agreeing with Number One over there but Djent can suck my balls. AAL is NOT Djent. Playing 8 strings does not automatically equate to Djent. Nah, AAL are djent, there's no denying it. Sorry. Doesn't mean they're shit though. Fuck the fucking fuck off . I Fucking lol'd hahaaa. As far a...

Sithu Aye

Now this is some instrumental Djent I was glad to discover. Another free to download one man project, created by some dude named Sithu. This stuff sounds kinda like Animals as leaders/Tesseract. This is his latest EP (the beginning reminds me of Shpongle xD ) [BBvideo 560,340]http://www.youtube.com/...

Chevelle

Surprised theres no Chevelle thread. I like these guys. I mean they are certainly not the most technically advanced band out there, but they're pretty catchy, and probably sound like early Tool more than any other band I can think of. I listen to mostly djent and sludge prog shit now, but this is on...

Re: General Tour Discussion Thread

I know a lot of people cut ass on 10k days, but I personally loved it. Rosetta Stoned might not have been my favorite song, but any other song on that album is/would be superb to hear live.

Especially Jambi.

Shit gets real in General Admission shows when they play Jambi bro.

Found out about this band on gotdjent.com. This is actually a one man project and his many albums could be classified as djent, post rock, prog metal, ambient and even some acoustics. Also his whole discography is for download for free on free 9 album discography . Heres his first album. [BBvideo 56...

divine doom: OM

Just got into OM. Is there a thread on this already?, if so I couldn't find it.

This shit is pretty righteous. The bass on the second song off their new album is just sick.

O fuck yes.... somebody convinced the youtube uploader to upload that entire intronaut set with soundboard audio: Full soundboard Intronaut set Sweet Jesus, the audio quality sounds like something from out of a recording studio. Edit: quality so good, it would be a crime not to give this a listen.

Re: Cult of Luna

yeah dude that would be cool. I like post metal, and prog metal, but i'm not really into that evil death metal shit, like meshuggah.

I'm not trying to summon satan here LOL.

I like metal that is along the vein of Isis, intronaut, CoL, Pelican, Red Sparrowes, omega massif.

yeah I personally like vertikal and eternal kingdom the most. Cult of Luna

Anybody who is a fan of Isis, intronaut, or any form of prog/post metal should check these guys out. I just got into them recently and their albums are awesome after listening for the last month. Anybody know how they are as a live band? This album very much resembles panopticon imo, check it out: [...
