I don't think it's entirely out of line to surmise we're likely getting an album Spring of 2019 though, based on this (and the actual facts we know about recording, as well as when they prefer to release albums)

I think, at best, the only thing that can be read out of this is that they plan on being done in the studio by then. I don't think they would announce a tour supporting an album release without announcing the album release as well. Which isn't to say the album won't be out by then but that I don't think there's a concrete relationship between this tour and an album release.

I bet they do a mini-tour before or after headlining Coachella and then head to Europe. Album release April 12th.

I think Tool headlining Coachella is pretty unlikely.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility. The first show of the 10,000 Days show was headlining at Coachella right before the album was released. They played the first one and APC and Puscifer have both played it recently. I could see it happening, but maybe not.

I'm hoping for Lollapalooza's debut next year here in Sweden to have Tool as headliners. I can see it happening!
