Can I just ask why anyone cares about a listening party? If such a thing occurred there would be NDAs out of the asshole so nothing is leaking. No recording devices would have been allowed. And it is not like this is the first time Tool have played the new album for anyone. A number of people have heard it. Tom Morello comes to mind. A number of others have tweeted about it. The only fucking mystery is why in the hell we don't know the name of the album and why in the hell we can't pre-order the damn thing yet.

Mostly because there's little else to talk about, other than just harping on at how good the new songs are.

i did a little googling last night about this listening party. didnt find anything new but this was useful sorta. last time for 10k they released the name of the album and track titles 2 months before the release date. i dont remember it being that far out but according to this post it was. maybe will get that in a couple more weeks or so.

also, some things never change! read thru that and see for yourself! funny though!

The album is still over 2 months away. It makes perfect sense that more details will be released in early July.

It's just part of the whole album release process. They do it when new games are released too. Get the press in a room let them have a listen or a play, then when it gets nearer the release date the press reviews will come out as a part of the last big build up of hype.
