I've had ZERO fucking luck securing Tool tickets over the years. I either got absolutely shit seats or had to go through StubHub. Fuck this shit.
Shit seats are better than no seats - did you get them?

Hopefully they announce a second Chicago show!
No- I never even managed that after even 15 minutes. I would've thrown them back anyways, was looking for specific sections. Am waiting for the rest of the shows to be announced before forking over money to some jackass on StubHub since there may be a second Chi-town date.

Apparently Vancouver on June 15 appeared on the Tool facebook page some time this morning, and has since been taken down

Another suggestion of a date in Anaheim - this time from a known good source who heard it from Danny. Looks like more dates are coming.

20th March was touted as the announce date for the Gorge, being the 20th already in Australia I expect an announcement may come soon.

Interesting to see they might not be doing a localized tour. This seemed like it was strictly east cost, with some canadaian dates... But now there is talk of Anaheim. Sure seems out of place. But I don't know the logistics of a bands tour; maybe it's easier than I think?

Really hoping that they keep the Grudge and Parabol/a in the setlist and don't revert to their Jambi/stinkfist/schism/46&2/Intermission/Vicarious/Aenema/Lateralus combo. Especially after spending £500 on flights from the UK! Seeing them add in Third Eye, the Patient & Intolerance when I last came over in 2010 was amazing and well worth the trip.

Damn it, my travel plans might change. I'm strongly considering selling my singles for Pittsburgh and Rochester and flying to Vancouver rent a car and drive to the gorge. Then fly out of Seattle? Sounds like a good idea to me but I make bad decisions all the time.

^^^ seeing a show like Tool at the Gorge would definitely be quite the visual treat. I say go for it. Would be doing the same but told myself I wouldn't be flying out to see them again until a new album comes out. I'm sticking to that.

As for me, we just bit the bullet and got some cool (but pricey) seats on StubHub. Fuuck.

Would love to see Tool at the Gorge or Red Rocks - it's on my list!

Won't be this time around though...

Yeah me too. I caught them at the double header at Red Rocks a while back. 1st row and then 8th row! Fuck what a great 2 shows. I think I might have to do the Gorge this time around even though it's all the way across the damn country! Anyone want to carpool and camp out? Ladies, I'll bring the wieners! Haha

I had the pleasure of seeing tool at red rocks for two nights in 2010. 2nd show I bought a 12th row ticket off of stub hub and I ended up with a set list. Guy in the red shirt gave it to me. Good Times...
Anyways I have purchased airfare to Vancouver and then safe passage from Seattle to CMH

385 from Columbus to Vancouver and Seattle to Columbus seemed like a great deal. Now I just need to rent a car or find someone else doing to the toolgrimige

I'm leaning heavily towards going... I'd split the car with ya as long as it's a good deal.

From my experiences: Red Rocks > The Gorge. Others I've gone with agree. Can't go wrong going to the Gorge though.

Just looked into renting a car in Vancouver and dropping it off in Seattle and it's almost 1000 dollars. What the fuck is up with that? I could buy a car in Vancouver and just leave it in Seattle for cheaper lol.

Sounds pretty outrageous - might be because it needs to cross the border. $1000 sounds like the cost it'd take to get it on a truck back to Vancouver (and then some). Vancouver is only a few hours drive from Seattle though right? Can't you just drive both ways?

Renting a car and returning to a different location is pretty expensive on it's own. So I'm not surprised that taking to it another country would is that expensive.

Yeah, going from Orlando to Tampa is one thing. Going from two different countries is another, no matter somewhat close proximity.

You are WRONG! WRONG you are!!! Seriously though, was a bit disappointed in The Gorge the one time there. The backdrop is great but that doesn't matter once it gets dark out. Otherwise it just had the feeling of a festival in the middle of Bum-fuck, WA. Getting in and out of there was horrendous. Red Rocks is very intimate despite being ~10k capacity, not a bad seat in the house, incredible acoustics, and the stage is large enough to put on a production like Tool or NIN. Also there are hotels/actual cities not too far.

To each their own. Do want to try the Gorge one more time though, probably not in the cards this year unless NIN would make their way there.

After doing some research I found that there are trains and buses that go from Vancouver to Seattle. Business class seat will cost me 65 bucks. It just sucks that it leaves so early 630 AM I think. I will just rent a car in Seattle.

And no I didn't think this trip through ahead of time, it's going to cost me a lot more than I originally thought.
