To compliment the review post I put out the other day, I'm working my way through my Bandcamp wishlist to review a few albums in there. I'm going to post them as I listen to them in this thread - a few of them I may have shared here before, but I'm sure you guys can forgive me for that!

First cab off the rank is Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster with their album Wires/Dreams\Wires. They're an instrumental prog-rock outfit from the UK, and pretty much sound like what you'd expect an instrumental version of Tool to be like. I think I enjoyed almost every track on this album, and while I'm inclined to make the usual "I wish they had a singer" complaint I do for most instrumental bands, it's worth a decent listen if Tool is your thing (and I presume for most of you Tool is still your thing).

Rating wise, I reckon this album is a 7/10 for me, but probably add a point if you're really aroused be instrumental only stuff.

Update: Turns out there's vocals on the last track. Not sure why this album is mostly instrumental.

Next up is an EP by rock band Wild Throne. It's a pretty heavy brand of rock, and if their tags are anything to go by they compare themselves to Mastodon. Not sure they sound heaps like Mastodon, but they are quite rocky and noisy and would probably appeal to fans of that band. They also included the terms Prog and Jazzy, and while I didn't pick up on those parts, I still think the EP sounded pretty good. It's their debut EP, so for a first recording I'll go with "this ain't bad" and look forward to seeing what they can produce in the future.

Jazzy is a word that gets thrown around a lot nowadays, but I'm not convinced it really means anything.

I think "zazzy" doesn't get used enough.

Everyone should enjoy the punk noise rock stylings of NY band Couch Slut. I didn't really want to use the term Riot Grrrl, but there are some obvious similarities here. It's much more brutal than you're typical Hole shit though. Features some NSFW artwork, but is a fine but short collection of excellent tunes.

I'd forgotten these guys had a new album out this year, and what a fucking great album it is. It's not breaking a bunch of new ground, but it's a great metal album, without some of the wankiness metal bands put out these days. File it under dirty death metal, and get behind it. Certainly in the running for the top 10 of 2015 for me.

I checked out the latest album by sludge rock band Fight Amp today, and it's worth a listen. File under the same category as Unsane, Whores, etc.

Like Fight Amp not long ago, Pigs also plough the fields of noise/sludge rock that Unsane and co. do. If you think they sound like Unsane, then you'd be correct as the bass player from that band is a member. Not quite as good as Fight Amp, but not far off either.

Pinkish Black are a Relapse Records band that I checked out earlier this year without realising they had a new record. I had a listen to this a couple of days ago, and it's great! They're a fuzzy psych/prog rock band and the album is well worth your time.

I just picked this up today and I'm loving it. I definitely second this for the collection.

Swooping in to be a very late contender for the best of 2015 list:

I was really inpressed with their debut which I heard earlier this year, their latest which dropped not long ago is just as good. Fans of noise rock/punk (that's most of you from what it seems) should check it out!

Here's a cool stoner rock/doom album from the band Khemmis which is worth a listen:

Probably the last of my 2015 recommendations, a band from Adelaide I know very little about called Grenadiers. Nothing unusual about these guys, more or less straight up QOTSA/Foo Fighters-ish hard rock (though much better than anything FF have put out in the last 10 years.

That album from Khemmis keeps getting better with repeat listens. It's well worth the time to take a listen for most Fourtheye readers.
