Yeah I'm starting to get a few of the songs on permanent spin in my head, which is always a good sign. Love the opening & closing tracks too. Sunny side up has grown on me too considering my detest for it on first listen.. Catchy little chorus that sucker.

Really digging the album. I was expecting to not like Sunny side after seeing all the hate for it on here, but I was bobbing my head to it on first listen.

that's the only song I keep skipping I feel like it throws off the vibe of the LP. should I not be doing that?

If I were you, I wouldn't skip it. But if I were you, I wouldn't know who Jeff Buckley is....and Sunny Side ain't that good. Buckley is.

Great interview with all of Faith No More talking about the reunion and the process behind the new album:

And in case you missed it (or haven't listened to it yet), Sol Invictus is all over the internet.

That song should have made it onto the album. Why do bands always fucking ditch the best songs?

Faith No More's B Sides were always head scratchingly awesome. I used to listen and go: "This didn't make the album??? Because?????"

New rips of Sol Invictus out this week sound quite a bit better than the leak from a few weeks back (no real susprises there). Almost sounds like it could be a different mix. Either way, it's a pleasure to listen to this as a decent quality FLAC and am looking forward to my vinyl copy arriving sometime soon.

cost and demand? I don't think they go gold on this release, I wasn't aware that record labels were accustomed to doing that.

Pretty much everyone releases vinyl these days. Not sure that record sales have a great deal to do with it. There's plenty of demand for vinyl.

record sales have a lot to do with it, vinyl is damn expensive to produce. 100 times more than CD's or internet downloads, that's for sure. it's ultimately up to the label to pony up that cash and press vinyl and if you don't move units why in the world would those greedy execs okay that? it makes sense, trust me, just agree. things move more fluidly if you do.

In this case the label would be Ipecac Recordings which Mike Patton founded. I doubt there are any execs telling them what they can and can't do.

yeah because when you co-found a record label you have no one to answer to, right. no board, it's just Mike in that white suit in a room with a throne and the gimp.
