I think they were alluding to the false endings in the song. Like you think the songs done then it starts off again. Unless you've read something I haven'tBlackHole83 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 1:30 am NOT sure what article I read it, but one of these mentioned they played false Invincible endings on the tour, which I found pretty interesting.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Like the ending of Rosetta Stoned. Near the end there is a break, part of the audience who isn't paying attention goes cheering, song continues.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
This song always reminds me of Return of the King (film). Sit back down!
I know the pieces fit, I studied the numbers in Southern France.

The Eerie Timeliness of Tool’s 2019 Return
The legendary metal band is returning after a 13-year absence, and while its sound isn’t in, its disaffected embrace of spirituality is.

- You like noisy music?
- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

"Tool have recently released Aenima, a dizzing album that reflects the current political climate, a reaction to the rise and election of Bill Clinton. Perhaps Eulogy, an opus found as the second track of the album exposes the lack of Clinton's convictions, he's a martyr to the democratic cause, one that needs to be crucified and once that's done who will be left holding the cigar?"
Reviewing a Tool album through the prism of current politics is fucking RETARDED

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Eh, the Atlantic is not a music publication. If they're talking about music or film or whatever, they're going to talk about it in the cultural context.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I thought it was an interesting article. Also interesting how quick some go to getting all bent out of shape about politics.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Politics make me want to cry. I know it's clichéd to say it but fuck I wish a plague would wipe all politicians off the Earth. Bunch of sociopaths.
I found the article ok though, I'm lapping up all these interviews and articles because in a year or so when it all dies down we will be back to raido silence and Maynard telling us to piss off.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
tys0n, don't you know?? Maynard was accused of rape by an anonymous twitter user (which he denied). Tread lightly! The albums might not be what you think! We cannot be to sure.
Maybe what makes Tool so popular is the resemblance they shared with the long gone, but oft remembered soda pop-ular drink, Surge. It was blend of tight, bubbling carbonation, high amounts of sugar, and other chemical additives that hit you like a swig of anti-freeze, not unlike popular Tool songs such as Hooker with a P---s and The Pot. In the era of Trump, it is hard not to find a cushy solace in songs like Disposition, or an angry mega-phone to yell at the orange man with in songs like Hush. One thing is for sure, Tool goes great with Soy-lattes and vegan biscuits. Perhaps 2019 will see the re-emergence of Surge on store shelve as well...
Hire me Atlantic. I can do it!
@hellboy, love the new avatar. Didn't realize you were Christian

I guess I just find it hard to get too upset about what random strangers write. I tend to focus on the parts of the article that are interesting, rather than those there to cause controversy. I'm a glass half full kinda guy.

Christian? Help him Obi Wan.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
It is a popular internet meme that Ewan looks like Jesus in those films haha

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Thats funny because my google reveal he played Christian in Moulin Rouge and I thought you must be a musical film buff.
And Jesus was a short Arab man.

No Greggheads in this forum on my watch.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I have seen that film, but that wasn't what I was thinking lol. I do like some musicals, but not most. I can't stand have over-dramatic/acted everyone thinks they need to be, or how they all have to be comedic because the audience needs jokes.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
That article sucked. He probably got told to write about tool and throw in some politics to appease their readers. If Tool want to talk politics then fine let me get there by hearing it but I always thought their message was more toward our society in general. People are already saying descending and FI are about trump. I think they are looking at it with too much tunnel vision. In 2 years trump will be long gone but the problem that we face will still be around.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
If only people could just enjoy the music.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Didn’t like the article as well. I checked the author’s twitter feed
I forgot my pen
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Trump is refreshing, but all politicians are equal offenders. FI has many interpretations, including I’m sure a broad and all-encompassing swipe against the deceit and exploitation of politics in general.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Hmm trump is a fear and war monger. Inoculate!

Well, there is some ice clinking in glasses in the background, so... he even goes into grudge thread style rants at times, quite surprising.
