The Melvins to play 2013 Meredith Music Festival
In news fresh from the interwebs this morning, it appears the Melvins are the first act to be announced for this years Meredith Music Festival held annually each December in rural Victoria. Ballots are open for the event (it sells out almost every year) and tickets will be $309 + booking fees. There should be a bunch of other acts announced over the coming months, and also confirmed on the lineup is Chic founder and recent Daft Punk collaborator Nile Rodgers.
No word yet on if there will be a full tour accompanying the festival. I sure hope so as there's little change I'll be able to make it to the festival. Stay tuned!

Revolver Article Just Posted on Toolband.com
"According to Tool drummer Danny Carey, fans can expect a new studio album from the band in early 2014.
The as-yet-untitled album, which will be the band’s fifth full-length studio release, will be the followup to 2006′s 10,000 Days.
“Right now, since we haven’t started tracking stuff at this point, it’ll be hard,†Carey told Loud Wire. “We could have the record finished by the end of the year [2013] — that’s a possibility, but the logistics of getting it manufactured and getting the record company in line and all this stuff, I doubt we’ll be able to get it out before Christmas. We’ll see how it goes. Most likely, it’ll be early 2014.â€
Carey added that he, Adam Jones and Justin Chancellor (but not Maynard James Keenan yet) are working on new material.
“It’s still the three of us right now and four of us it will be soon, you know, just working on all our parts and working on our compositions together,†Carey said, adding, “We’re working every day on it, and it’s going really well, so I’m hoping we’ll get into the studio by the end of the year.
“Stylistically, we’re trying to push things in different ways, but it always comes out sounding like Tool no matter what we’re trying to do.â€

Okay I am converted. Thanks Tyson.
What are some other albums worth listening to?
I never gave them a change because one song sounded like Mr Bungle...and not a fan of music like that.
THis is good though. Good heavy...
well, I'm not nearly as awesome as Tyson, but Houdini is brilliant and my personal fave. Â A Senile Animal is also quite enjoyable from an accessibility standpoint if you want to hear something more recent.

"THE MAGGOT".
Dual-drummer era, "A SENILE ANIMAL", or "NUDE WITH BOOTS".
Tyson should've said "LYSOL", as well as "BULLHEAD". "STAG" is for craziness.
"STONER WITCH" for commercial. Probably my least favourite, if there's such a thing when discussing the almighty SNIVLEM.
"COLOSSUS OF DESTINY" if you want to skip all the bullshit and get down to the real brilliance.
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.
